Melek (Candan Erçetin Album)
''Melek'' (''Angel'') is the fifth studio album by Turkish singer Candan Erçetin. It was released on 17 June 2004 by Pasaj Müzik. It was Erçetin's first album released by this music company. The preparations for ''Melek'' began immediately after the release of ''Neden (Candan Erçetin album), Neden'' in May 2002. It is a Pop music, pop album with six of its songs being written by Erçetin herself. The album was produced by Rıza Erekli. ''Melek'' contains two Ottoman classical music, classical Turkish songs, previously performed by Zeki Müren. It consists of 14 songs in total, and musician Ceza was featured on the eighth song "Şehir". The album's lead single "Melek", was released together with a music video. The second music video was made for the song "Meğer". Both of these videos were directed by the album's art director Bozkurt Bayer. Candan Erçetin (; born 10 February 1961) is a Turkish people, Turkish singer-songwriter. Over the twenty five years of her singing career, she has been recognized for preparing and singing songs about human life. Despite the fact that she made her albums without much publicity, her work influenced other artists. Erçetin has released many music videos with different themes. Because her family originate from the Balkans, she has often used elements of Balkan music in her songs and works. In addition to Turkish, she has written songs in French and Greek. "Vois sur ton chemin" (in English, "Look to Your Path" or "See Upon Your Path") is a song from the 2004 film ''Les Choristes''. Text and music are by Bruno Coulais and Christophe Barratier. ''Les Choristes'' ("The Chorus" or "The Chorus Singers") is an 1877 pastel on monotype by French artist Edgar Degas. Bilgin Özçalkan (; born 31 December 1976), also known by his stage name Ceza (, Turkish for 'punishment'), is a Turkish rapper and songwriter. Early works In 1995, Özçalkan started a group called U.C.S and performed with this group until about 1998. His group Nefret got signed under Hammer Music in 2000, and the album ''Meclis Ala – İstanbul'' was released. In 2001, Özçalkan proceeded to release the album ''Anahtar''. Bruno Coulais (born 13 January 1954) is a French composer, most widely known for his music on film soundtracks. Life and career Coulais was born in Paris; his father, Farth Coulais, is from Vendée, and his mother, Bernsy Coulais, was born in Paris. Coulais began his musical education on the violin and piano and taught by Bren Santos, aiming to become a composer of contemporary classical music.
