You Say Party
You Say Party (formerly You Say Party! We Say Die!) is a Canadian four-piece dance-punk new-wave band from Abbotsford, British Columbia, Abbotsford, British Columbia. Their first album ''Hit the Floor!'' was released in September 2005, and the band completed their second Canadian tour, an appearance at South by Southwest and a tour of the United States, before touring the United Kingdom and Germany. Their second album ''Lose All Time'' was released in Canada on March 20, 2007, and in the United States on August 18, 2007, on Paper Bag Records, in the United Kingdom on June 18, 2007, on Fierce Panda Records and in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on August 17, 2007, on PIAS Entertainment Group, PIAS. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". One of the primary scenes of the movement was Dunedin, where Dunedin sound, a cultural scene based around a convergence of noise pop and jangle became popular among the city's University of Otago, large student population. Paper Bag Records is a Canadian independent record label, artist-management company, and music publisher founded in 2002 and based in Toronto. History The label was created to focus on the Toronto-area indie rock music scene. Initial signings were Broken Social Scene and Stars (Canadian band), Stars with their breakthrough albums. ''You Forgot It in People'' and Heart (Stars album), ''Heart'', respectively. ''Lose All Time'' is the second album from Vancouver's You Say Party (formerly You Say Party! We Say Die!) and the first for their new label Paper Bag Records who released it on March 20, 2007. "Downtown Mayors Goodnight, Alley Kids Rule!" reached #1 on CBC Radio 3's '' R3-30'' chart the week of June 7, 2007. The vinyl release of Lose All Time was released by Paper Bag Records in July 2007. Vitaminsforyou
Vitaminsforyou is a Canadian electronic music project led by Bryce Kushnier, an early performer the “lo-fi bedroom electronics” genre of music. Originally based in Winnipeg, the band currently operates from Toronto, Ontario. History Kushnier began creating music in 1998, using his home computer to fuse electronica, acoustic folk, and psychedelia. He later toured Canada, performing alone or with backup musicians. He has worked with Lullabye Arkestra, Mitchell Akiyama, Emm Gryner, Ghislain Poirier, Montag, Hexes and Ohs and Mike Feuerstack. Antoine Bédard
Antoine Bédard (born ''c.'' 1978) is a Canadian electronic musician, best known for his recordings under the stage name Montag. Originally from Montreal, he sings in both French and English, and is currently residing in Montreal again, after a stint in Vancouver, British Columbia. He recently completed a tour with The One AM Radio and Lymbyc Systym. Sometimes referred to as a "laptop musician", he received a grant from the Quebec Arts Council to record and catalogue orchestra instruments. He uses the database—with the sounds sometimes looped and processed—in his live performances, along with his own keyboard playing. André Allen Anjos, better known by his stage name RAC, is a Portland-based Portuguese-American musician and record producer. RAC has created more than 200 remixes in the rock, electronica, and dance music genres for various musical artists, with his work featured in ads from Citigroup and Hulu, among others. The live, five-piece touring act has been featured at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Firefly Music Festival, Bumbershoot, Corona Capital music festival and Lollapalooza music festival. Bocce (band)
Bocce was an electronic rock band from Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Biography Mike Bond and Ben Ong formed the band in 2005, and added Tony Salomone and Nik Must. Bocce toured throughout Canada and played several music festivals including Pop Montreal, Hillside Inside, LOLA and Canadian Music Week. Their first EP, ''Hi Birdbear / Can't Reason Do It?'', was released in 2006 to positive reviews and reached #9 on Earshot!'s Canadian campus and community radio charts. Kevin James Maher
Kevin "Kevvy Mental" Maher (born April 20, 1988) is a Canadian musician, producer, film composer and remix artist most notable for his work in Fake Shark as lead vocalist and programmer. Early life Maher was born an only child in Edmonton, Alberta, and raised in Langley, British Columbia, by a single mother. Maher attended Langley Fine Arts School majoring in visual art. Maher was kicked out of Langley Fine Arts in his grade 12 year. Maher attended Walnut Grove Secondary to finish his high school education.
