"Remember the Nights" is a song by American new wave band The Motels, which was released in 1983 as the second single from their fourth studio album ''Little Robbers''. The song was written by Martha Davis and Scott Thurston, and produced by Val Garay. "Remember the Nights" peaked at number 36 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Music video The song's music video was directed by Val Garay and produced by Tony Basile. It achieved heavy rotation on MTV. Critical reception On its release, ''Billboard'' listed the song as one of their "Pop picks" and wrote, "Still torchy and dramatic, but the beat is peppier than in 'Suddenly Last Summer'." ''Cash Box'' felt the song took a "tougher stance" in comparison to the band's previous chart successes. The Motels
The Motels are an American new wave band from Berkeley, California, that is best known for the singles "Only the Lonely" and "Suddenly Last Summer", each of which peaked at No. 9 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, in 1982 and 1983, respectively. In 1980, The Motels song " Total Control" reached No. 7 on the Australian chart (for two weeks), and their song "Danger" reached No. 15 on the French chart. Martha Davis, the lead singer, reformed a version of the band called "The Motels featuring Martha Davis" in 1998 and toured under that name with various line-ups of musicians. In 2013, the band was re-christened with a permanent name, Martha Davis and The Motels. Mainstream Rock is a music chart in ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard'' magazine that ranks the most-played songs on mainstream rock radio stations in the United States, a category that combines the formats of active rock and heritage rock. Brian Glascock
Brian Glascock (born 17 July 1948) is an English rock drummer for The Gods, Toe Fat, Carmen, Captain Beyond, Soy Cowboy, and primarily for The Motels. He also played on albums by Dolly Parton, Iggy Pop, and Joan Armatrading. He performed in a music video with Nancy Wilson of Heart. He has also performed much session work including The Bee Gees track "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart", along with fellow Juniors guitarist Alan Kendall. He was also the drummer for The Kids of Widney High and played on their second album, "Let's Get Busy." He lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States, where he worked for a time as a photo technician and, since 2006, has performed music regularly with various musical combos including 30 Second Crash, Meat Raffle Road, and Sheely Dan, which also featured his wife, Kathy Glascock and the late Loren Walsted, former guitarist of the Underbeats. The ''Billboard'' Hot 100 is the music industry standard record chart in the United States for songs, published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. The weekly tracking period for sales was initially Monday to Sunday when Nielsen started tracking sales in 1991, but was changed to Friday to Thursday in July 2015.
