Remedy Flashboards
Remedy Flashboards is an extension of the Action Request System. Flashboards allows users to define and view graphical representations of data held in the AR System. The name is derived from the resemblance between the standard Flashboard display and the classic speedometer found on the dashboard of an automobile. Speedometer
A speedometer or speed meter is a gauge that measures and displays the instantaneous speed of a vehicle. Now universally fitted to motor vehicles, they started to be available as options in the early 20th century, and as standard equipment from about 1910 onwards. Other vehicles may use devices analogous to the speedometer with different means of sensing speed, eg. boats use a pit log, while aircraft use an airspeed indicator. Charles Babbage is credited with creating an early type of a speedometer, which was usually fitted to locomotives. The electric speedometer was invented by the Croatian Josip Belušić in 1888 and was originally called a velocimeter. For business applications, see Dashboard (business). A dashboard (also called dash, instrument panel (IP), or fascia) is a control panel set within the central console of a vehicle or small aircraft. Usually located directly ahead of the driver (or pilot), it displays instrumentation and controls for the vehicle's operation. Etymology Originally, the word ''dashboard'' applied to a barrier of wood or leather fixed at the front of a horse-drawn carriage or sleigh to protect the driver from mud or other debris "dashed up" (thrown up) by the horses' hooves. Remedy Corp
Remedy Corporation was a software company that produced the Action Request System and various applications therein. It is one of the biggest and oldest names in ITSM software. Remedy is now the Service Management Business Unit of BMC Software. History Remedy Corporation was founded in 1990 by Doug Mueller, Dave Mahler, and Larry Garlick, who was the CEO until 2001. The company went public in 1995 and in 1996 was named by ''Business Week'' as the "Number 1 Top Hot Growth Company in America." In 2001, competitor Peregrine Systems, purchased the company for $1.2 billion in cash and stock.
