''Relayted'' is the first studio album by Minneapolis indie rock collective Gayngs. It was released via Jagjaguwar on May 11, 2010. Inspired by 10cc's " I'm Not in Love", every song on the album was recorded at 69 BPM. On May 14, 2010, the album release show was held at First Avenue. The album peaked at number 27 on ''Billboard''s Heatseekers Albums chart. As of 2011, it has sold 13,000 copies. Critical reception At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average score out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, ''Relayted'' received an average score of 78, based on 13 reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews". Steven Hyden of ''The A.V. Club'' gave the album a grade of B+, calling it "a record fueled by the soft-rock solipsism of 10cc and loads of antidepressants." Affiliyated
''Affiliyated'' is a remix EP of Gayngs' 2010 debut studio album, ''Relayted'', by Doomtree. It premiered on ''Stereogum'' on March 4, 2011. The EP was produced by Cecil Otter, Paper Tiger, P.O.S, and Lazerbeak, among others. The producers were handed 10 random stems from ''Relayted'' to build a new song out of them. The EP's release show was held at First Avenue on March 6, 2011. Justin Vernon
Justin DeYarmond Edison Vernon (born April 30, 1981) is an American singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist. He is best known as the primary songwriter and frontman of indie folk band Bon Iver. Known for his distinct falsetto voice, He is also a member of the bands Volcano Choir, Big Red Machine, the Shouting Matches, and Gayngs. He was previously a member of the now-defunct band DeYarmond Edison. Vernon has received widespread acclaim for his work, predominantly with Bon Iver. Early life Vernon attended Memorial High School in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where he still resides today. Margret Wander (born May 23, 1981), better known by her stage name Dessa, is an American rapper, singer, writer, and former record executive. She is a member of the indie hip hop collective Doomtree. Early life Dessa was born to Robert Wander Jr. and Sylvia Burgos Toftness, and has a younger brother, Max. Her father is white and her mother Puerto Rican. Dessa went to Southwest High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota, graduating from the IB Diploma Programme in 1999. She attended the University of Minnesota, where she earned a B.A. in philosophy. Mike Lewis (born Michael Lewis) is an American saxophonist and bassist from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is a founding member and saxophonist in contemporary jazz groups Happy Apple and Fat Kid Wednesdays. He also plays electric bass in Alpha Consumer and Redstart. Joe Mabbott
Joe Mabbott is an American record producer and studio audio engineer who has worked with many independent and mainstream artists of the 1990s 2000s and 2010s including Atmosphere, Snoop Dogg, Brother Ali, Cloud Cult and The Matches. In addition to record engineering, Joe Mabbott owns and operates The Hideaway Studio housed in the historic Grain Belt Brewery building in Northeast Minneapolis. The main live room at the Hideaway is a generously sized at 25x35 feet with 14-foot ceilings, with half of the room being concrete and exposed brick, and the other half sheetrock and sound-treated, allowing exceptional ambience when desired. Godley & Creme were an English rock duo formally established in Manchester in 1977 by Kevin Godley and Lol Creme. The pair began releasing music as a duo after their departure from the rock band 10cc. In 1979, they directed their first music video with the single "An Englishman in New York". After this, they became involved in the production of videos for artists such as Ultravox, the Police, Yes, Duran Duran, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Wang Chung, as well as directing the groundbreaking video for their 1985 single "Cry". "Cry" is a song released by the English music duo Godley & Creme on 11 March 1985. It was included on the duo's album ''The History Mix Volume 1''. The song reached number 16 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart, becoming Godley & Creme's lone Top 40 hit in the US apart from their former band, 10cc. It reached No. 19 on the UK Singles Chart.
