Reine Almqvist
Rolf Reine Almqvist (born 12 April 1949) is a Swedish former professional football player and coach who played as striker. Club career Almqvist played for IFK Göteborg, Åtvidabergs FF, IFK Sundsvall, In 1980, he joined the Seattle Sounders of the North American Soccer League, playing five games during the outdoor season and another seventeen during the 1980–81 NASL indoor season. He then returned to Sweden and played for BK Häcken, Ope IF and Djerv 1919. He was the Allsvenskan top scorer in 1969 and 1977. International career Almqvist won four caps and scored one goal between 1970 and 1979 for the Sweden national team. He also represented the Sweden U19 and U21 teams. Managerial career Almqvist coached IF Olsfors, Kullens BK, BK Häcken, Djerv 1919, Fredrikstad FK, Helsingborgs IF, IFK Göteborg, Landskrona BoIS, Bryne, FK Tønsberg and Västra Frölunda IF. Landskrona Boll och Idrottsällskap ( en, Landskrona Ball and Sports Society, locally referred to as BoIS) is a Swedish professional football club located in Landskrona, Scania, which currently plays in Superettan, the second league tier of football in Sweden. The club was formed on 7 February 1915 through the merger of two Landskrona clubs, ''IFK Landskrona'' and ''Landskrona BK'' (earlier known as Diana BK). In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. An early illustration of the first international football match between Scotland and England in 1872 shows the Scottish players wearing cowls, and the English wearing a variety of school caps. Allsvenskan (; en, the All-Swedish, also known as Fotbollsallsvenskan, en, the Football All-Swedish) is a Swedish professional league for men's association football clubs. It was founded in 1924 and is the top tier of the Swedish football league system, operating on a system of promotion and relegation with Superettan. Seasons run from late March or early April to the beginning of November, with the 16 clubs all meeting each other twice, resulting in a 30-match season, for a total of 240 matches league-wide. North American Soccer League (1968–1984)
The North American Soccer League (NASL) was the top-level major professional soccer league in the United States and Canada that operated from 1968 to 1984. It was the first soccer league to be successful on a national scale in the United States. The league final was called the Soccer Bowl from 1975 to 1983 and the Soccer Bowl Series in its final year, 1984. The league was headed by Commissioner Phil Woosnam from 1969 to 1983.
