Reina Hispanoamericana (''Hispanic American Queen'') is an annual beauty pageant celebrating Hispanic heritage, language and culture, started in 1991 as Reina Sudamericana (''South American Queen''), is based in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. Up to 2003 the participants were restricted to the 10 countries in South America; in 2004 participants from Panama and Costa Rica in Central America were invited; and in 2006 participants from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Portugal & Spain joined. In 2007 Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras & United States were added, and the name changed to Reina Hispanoamericana. Reina Hispanoamericana 2019 was the 29th edition of the Reina Hispanoamericana pageant. It was held on February 8, 2020, in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. Evalina van Putten (born 1992) is a Curaçaoan beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Curaçao 2011 and Reina Hispanoamericana 2011 and also represented her country in Miss Universe 2011. Sarodj Bertin Durocher (born April 4, 1986) is a Haitian lawyer, best known as a beauty pageant contestant. Early life and education Bertin was born in Haiti, and is the daughter of Mireille Durocher and Jean Bertin. Bertin's mother, who was a lawyer and an outspoken critic of then president Jean-Bertrand Aristide, was murdered on March 28, 1995, in Port-au-Prince. She was shot in broad daylight while being driven by a client, Eugene "Junior" Baillergeau, away from the U.S. military's Camp Democracy headquarters.
