Rage (German Band)
Rage is a German heavy metal band formed in 1984 by Peter "Peavy" Wagner. They were part of the German heavy/speed/power metal scene which emerged in the early to mid-1980s, and have been referred to as one of the country's so-called "big four" of power metal, along with Grave Digger, Helloween and Running Wild. Rage was formed in 1984 under the name Avenger. After releasing their debut album ''Prayers of Steel'' and their ''Depraved to Black'' EP in 1985, the band changed their name to Rage because there was another band in England that shared the same name. Speed metal is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music that originated in the late 1970s from new wave of British heavy metal (NWOBHM) roots.K. Noise Records
Noise Records is a German heavy metal record label founded in 1983 by German music industry personality Karl-Ulrich Walterbach as an expansion of his company Modern Music Records. It was sold to the Sanctuary Records Group in 2001 and ceased any activity in 2007 due to the bankruptcy of Sanctuary. The Noise catalogue was consequently acquired by Universal Music Group later on. Peavy Wagner
Peter "Peavy" Wagner (born 22 December 1964) is a German heavy metal musician best known as the lead singer, bassist and main songwriter of Rage. Biography Wagner was born in Herne, North Rhine-Westphalia, the second of four children. His parents, both passionate amateur musicians, tried to inspire their kids for music since childhood. Eventually, Wagner learned his first instrument, the classical guitar. He started to play on the electrical guitar a few years later and, inspired by Lemmy from Motörhead, finally switched to the electric bass in the early 1980s. In 1983, Wagner founded together with the two guitar players Jochen Schroeder and Alf Meyerratken the heavy metal band Avenger. In 1986, the band's name was changed to Rage. Wagner is the only member of the band to have stayed in it throughout its history. He currently performs as the band's bassist and singer.
