Luis Regueiro
Luis Regueiro Pagola ( 1 July 1908 – 6 December 1995), sometimes nicknamed ''Corso'', was a footballer, and an Olympian from the Basque Country in the north of Spain. Football career He began his career in 1924 playing for Real Unión in the Basque Country. He then moved to Madrid FC where he played from 1931 to 1936, scoring 53 goals in 92 matches; from 1932 onwards, his teammates included his younger brother Pedro. After the start of the Spanish Civil War in 1936 La Liga was suspended. In its place Regueiro, was chosen to be captain of the Basque national football team for its tour of Europe. Later, in the 1938–39 season, he and most of the Basque team played under the name CD Euzkadi in Mexico, before moving to other local clubs, Asturias F.C. in the case of Regueiro, and later finishing his career at América where he was a player-manager. Mario Ignacio Regueiro Pintos (born 14 September 1978) is a Uruguayan retired footballer who played mainly as a left winger but also on the other flank, and even as a forward. During his professional career he played mainly in Spain, amassing La Liga totals of 167 matches and 25 goals over the course of eight seasons. Other than in his country, he also competed in Greece and Argentina. Regueiro represented Uruguay at the 2002 World Cup. Pedro Regueiro Pagola ( 19 December 1909 – 11 June 1985) was a Spanish association football, footballer who played as a midfielder. Football career Born in Irun in the Basque Country (greater region), Basque Country, Regueiro started his playing career at Real Unión in 1925. He moved for one Domestic association football season, season to Real Betis in 1929, after which he returned to Real Unión for two more seasons. Corps General Julio Casas Regueiro (February 18, 1936 – September 3, 2011) was a Cuban politician. He was a vice-president of the Council of State and the Minister of Defense. Previously, Regueiro was the Deputy Minister of MINFAR in charge of Economic Activity and was in charge of Cuba's holding company, GAE SA, which is the holding company for the commercial activities belonging to MINFAR, the Cuban Armed Forces Ministry. It manages much of Cuba's lucrative tourist industry (such as the company Gaviota) along with agriculture, import-export businesses, retail stores and other enterprises. Melania Ballish Regueiro (née Lopez) is the artistic director of The Classical Ballet Centre in Summerville, South Carolina, USA. Career A retired Prima Ballerina. Regueiro won the Bronze in the prestigious Brasilia International Dance Competition in 1992. She left home at the age of 14 to join the Cuban National Youth Ballet Company. In 1995 she moved to Germany, joining the Volkstheater Rostock under the direction of Itchko Lazarov.
