Regional Health Authorities Of Manitoba
Regional health authorities (RHAs) are Manitoba's independent governing bodies for healthcare delivery and regulation. RHAs are overseen by their respective boards, who have responsibility for the mandate, resources, and performance of the health authority, responding directly to the provincial Minister of Health, Seniors and Active Living. RHAs work under ''The Regional Health Authorities Act''. Health Authority
Between 1996 and 2002 the English National Health Service was organised under the following health authorities. In 2002 the health authorities were reorganised and their boundaries changed to constitute 28 strategic health authorities, which were reduced in number to 10 in 2006. The Prairie Mountain Health (PMH; ; formerly Western Regional Health Authority) is the Health authority, governing body responsible for Healthcare in Canada, healthcare delivery and regulation for the eponymous Health regions of Canada, health region in southwest Manitoba. PMH is one of 5 Regional Health Authorities of Manitoba, regional health authorities (RHAs) in Manitoba, and was formed in June 2012 by amalgamating the former regional health authorities of Brandon, Assiniboine, and Parkland Region, Parkland. As of July 2019, PMH has approximately 7,846 employees. Oakbank, Manitoba
Oakbank is an unincorporated community in Manitoba, Canada located about 15 km east of the provincial capital Winnipeg, in the Rural Municipality of Springfield. It has a population of about 5,000, making it the largest unincorporated community in the province of Manitoba. Starting off as a small, largely rural community, Oakbank is now a dormitory town, or bedroom community, for Winnipeg, as a majority of the residents work in that city. Lundar is an unincorporated community recognized as a local urban district situated in Manitoba, Canada. It is located in the Rural Municipality of Coldwell, in Manitoba's Interlake Region, 99 km north of Winnipeg on Hwy 6. Nearby attractions are Lake Manitoba and its beaches, and the Lundar Provincial Park. Lundar is home to a Canada goose refuge, and a large statue of a Canada goose is located in the community. Lac Du Bonnet, Manitoba
Lac du Bonnet is a town in Manitoba, Canada located northeast of Winnipeg on the west shore of the Winnipeg River. It is surrounded by the Rural Municipality of Lac du Bonnet. The word "Bonnet" is pronounced by locals as "bonny." History The lake after which Lac du Bonnet takes its name was so called by the French explorer and fur trader Pierre Gaultier La Verendrye, circa 1732. The shape of the lake, itself part of the Winnipeg River, is said to have reminded him of a bonnet. The name "Lac du Bonnet" appears on a map of the explorer Joseph Derouen as early as 1760. Beginning in 1926, Lac du Bonnet was home to the #1 Wing of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Gimli, Manitoba
Gimli is an unincorporated community in the Rural Municipality of Gimli on the west side of Lake Winnipeg in Manitoba, Canada. The community's first European settlers were Icelanders who were part of the New Iceland settlement in Manitoba. The community maintains a strong connection to Iceland and Icelandic culture today, including the annual Icelandic Festival. It was incorporated as a village on March 6, 1908, and held List of towns in Manitoba, town status between December 31, 1946, and January 1, 2003, when it amalgamated with the RM of Gimli. Pinawa is a local government district and small community of 1,331 residents (2016 census) located in southeastern Manitoba, Canada. It is 110 kilometres north-east of Winnipeg. Beausejour () is a town in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It is 46 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg, just west of the Canadian Shield and Whiteshell Provincial Park. Arborg is a town located 103 kilometres north of Winnipeg, at the junction of Manitoba Highways 7 and 68, in the Interlake Region of Manitoba, Canada.
