The Reform and Renaissance Party ( ar-at, حزب الإصلاح والنهضة, al-Eslah we al-Nahda) is an Islamist political party in Egypt. History and profile The party was established on 18 July 2011. Hesham Mustafa Abdel Aziz is the leader of the party. The party announced on 6 April 2014 that it would form a shadow government. The party accepted the protests that started on 30 June 2013. The party met with the Justice Party to discuss potential alliances for the 2015 Egyptian parliamentary election. The party announced on 4 July 2014 that it also met with the Reform and Development Party to discuss coordination. Members of the Egyptian Social Democratic Party met with party members to discuss cooperation between the parties during the 2014 parliamentary elections. The House of Representatives ( ar, مجلس النواب, Maglis El Nowwab) is the lower house of Egypt's bicameral parliament. Formation of the House The 2014 constitution that was passed in the 2014 constitutional referendum has put into place the following rules: the House that is elected following the ratification of the constitution must have at least 450 members. In addition, prospective members must be Egyptian, must be at least 25 years old and must hold an education certificate. Also, the president can appoint, at the most, five percent of the members in the chamber. The House sits for a five-year term but can be dissolved earlier by the president. The Justice Party ( ar-at, حزب العدل, Ḥizb el-Adl) is a political party in Egypt. It was founded after the Egyptian Revolution of 2011 by a group of people from different movements that led to the revolution including the April 6 Youth Movement, the National Association for Change and Kefaya. Egyptian parliamentary elections to the House of Representatives were held in two phases, from 17 October to 2 December 2015.
