Rees Ministry
The Rees ministry was the 91st ministry of the Government of New South Wales, and was led by the 41st Premier Nathan Rees. The Rees Labor ministry was formed following the resignation of Premier Morris Iemma on 5 September 2008 and the unanimous election of Rees as Leader of the Labor caucus and Carmel Tebbutt as Deputy Leader. On 5 September Rees and Tebbutt were sworn as Premier and Deputy Premier respectively by the Governor of New South Wales Professor Marie Bashir AC. Therest of the ministry ministry was sworn in on 8 September 2008 at Government House by the Lieutenant Governor, James Spigelman AC. John Hatzistergos
John Hatzistergos (born 20 August 1960) is an Australian judge of the District Court of New South Wales. He is a former politician who was a member of the New South Wales Legislative Council representing the Labor Party between 1999 and 2011, and a minister in various Labor governments. Early life and education Born in Redfern, Sydney, the son of two Greek immigrants, Hatzistergos was educated at Bourke Street Primary School in Surry Hills and Cleveland Street Boys' High School. Hatzistergos studied economics and law at the University of Sydney, where he was later appointed to the Senate of the University. The Minister for Industrial Relations is a Minister of the Crown in the Government of New South Wales who has responsibilities for matters relating to industrial and labour laws and regulation in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The portfolio was established in 1895 in the Reid ministry and titled Minister for Labour and Industry, held in conjunction with the Minister of Public Instruction. Minister For The Illawarra (New South Wales)
In New South Wales, regional ministers have been appointed since 1995 on a part-time basis as part of the Government of New South Wales. Each minister has other departmental responsibilities, as well as specific responsibilities for one of the regions of New South Wales. David Campbell (Australian Politician)
David Andrew Campbell (born 27 July 1957), a former Australian politician, was a Member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly for Keira between 1999 and 2011. A former Lord Mayor of Wollongong, Campbell was appointed Minister for Police from 2 April 2007 to 5 September 2008, as well as Minister for Transport from 8 September 2008 until his resignation on 20 May 2010, with both positions as part of the NSW Government. Tony Kelly (politician)
Anthony Bernard Kelly (born 25 August 1948) is an Australian former politician, who was a member of the New South Wales Legislative Council representing the Australian Labor Party from 1997 until 2011. Following an investigation by the Independent Commission Against Corruption in 2011, it was found that Kelly engaged in corrupt conduct during the government purchase of a beach property in northern Sydney. Kelly did not face criminal charges. The Director of Public Prosecutions decided that there was insufficient evidence to proceed with a prosecution for forgery and misconduct in public office. Matthew James Brown (born 10 March 1972) is an Australian politician, elected as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly for Kiama between 1999 and 2011. James Spigelman
James Jacob Spigelman (born 1 January 1946) is a former Australian judge who served as Chief Justice of New South Wales from 1998 to 2011. He was also Lieutenant-Governor of New South Wales from 1998 to 2012. He served on the Court of Final Appeal of Hong Kong as a non-permanent judge from other common law jurisdictions from April 2013 to his early resignation in September 2020. Lieutenant Governor Of New South Wales
The Lieutenant-Governor of New South Wales is a government position in the State of New South Wales, Australia, acting as a deputy to the Governor of New South Wales. The office was first created in October 1786, before the arrival of the First Fleet, to act as a deputy to the first governor, Arthur Phillip. At that time the Lieutenant-Governor, or its equivalent of "Administrator of the Government", was filled by military officers and was a position only created when needed or in times of long absences by the Governor.
