Dean Walter "Redd" Boggs (1921 – 9 May 1996) was a science fiction fanzine writer, editor and publisher from Los Angeles, California. Beginning with his editing of the 1948 ''Fantasy Annual'', and through his fanzines such as ''Sky Hook'', he raising the standards for fan writing and fanzine production. ''Sky Hook'' published both fannish and critical material, including early criticism by James Blish. His fanzine ''Discord'' was nominated for the Best Fanzine Hugo in 1961. His personal fanzine ''Spirochete'' for the Fantasy Amateur Press Association lasted for 76 issues. Boggs was nominated for the Retro Hugo for Best Fan Writer, and ''Sky Hook'' was nominated for Best Fanzine. John Elroy Sanford (December 9, 1922 – October 11, 1991), better known by his stage name Redd Foxx, was an American stand-up comedian and actor. Foxx gained success with his raunchy nightclub act before and during the civil rights movement. Known as the "King of the Party Records", he performed on more than 50 records in his lifetime. He portrayed Fred G. Sanford on the television show '' Sanford and Son'' and starred in ''The Redd Foxx Show'' and ''The Royal Family''. Richardson Green (born 23 June 1961), known professionally as Redd Pepper, is a Barbadian-British voice actor. With his unusually deep voice and vocal style similar to that of Don LaFontaine, he is known for his work on movie trailers. Early life Pepper was born Richardson Green in Barbados on 23 June 1961, and moved to London as a child. He has six sisters and three brothers. He attended Sedgehill School in the Lewisham area of London. His first job was at a McDonald's, after which he spent six months as a firefighter. He then became a train driver on the London Underground. Henry Ellis Stewart (May 27, 1923 – August 2, 2003), better known as Redd Stewart, was an American country music songwriter and recording artist who co-wrote "Tennessee Waltz" with Pee Wee King in 1948. Biography He was born in Ashland City, Tennessee, United States. While still a child, his family moved to Louisville, Kentucky. At an early age, he learned to play several musical instruments such as the banjo, piano, fiddle and guitar. He changed his first name to Redd because of his red hair and complexion. His talent was not only as a musician but also as a songwriter, beginning by writing a little jingle for a Louisville car dealer's commercial. In 1937, he joined the Golden West Cowboys band headed by Pee Wee King with lead singer Eddy Arnold. Stewart served in the South Pacific in World War II, attaining the rank of sergeant. Redd Volkaert (born 1958) originally from Canada, is widely regarded as one of the greatest guitar players in the modern era and is "among the country’s top Telecaster guitar slingers." particularly in the genres of Western Swing and Honky Tonk. He has been the go-to picker for Merle Haggard and has a history playing with the likes of Johnny Paycheck and George Jones. Redd can often be found on stage in the company of his fellow Telecaster stalwart Bill Kirchen formerly of Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen.
