Edgar Lewis (director)
Edgar Lewis (July 22, 1869 – May 21, 1938) was an American director. Career He began his career as a stage actor and entered the film industry in 1911 as an actor, making his directorial debut two years later. Specializing in action-adventure films and westerns, he directed dozens of pictures between 1913 and 1930, when he left directing and returned to his first love, acting. Most of his films during the sound era were in bit parts or uncredited roles. He appeared in his final film, '' Riding Wild'' in 1935 and retired. He died in Los Angeles in 1938. Charles W
The F/V ''Charles W'', also known as Annie J Larsen, is a historic fishing schooner anchored in Petersburg, Alaska. At the time of its retirement in 2000, it was the oldest fishing vessel in the fishing fleet of Southeast Alaska, and the only known wooden fishing vessel in the entire state still in active service. Launched in 1907, she was first used in the halibut fisheries of Puget Sound and the Bering Sea as the ''Annie J Larsen''. In 1925 she was purchased by the Alaska Glacier Seafood Company, refitted for shrimp trawling, and renamed ''Charles W'' in honor of owner Karl Sifferman's father. The company was one of the pioneers of the local shrimp fishery, a business it began to phase out due to increasing competition in the 1970s. The ''Charles W'' was the last of the company's fleet of ships, which numbered twelve at its height. The boat was acquired in 2002 by the nonprofit Friends of the ''Charles W''. Frank E. Montgomery (June 14, 1870 – July 18, 1944) was an early American silent film director and actor. Biography Montgomery acted in 28 films but is most acclaimed as a silent film director in which he is credited with directing 82 films. He was married to actresses Florence McClain as well as Josephine Mercedes Workman, who used the stage name Princess Mona Darkfeather to forge a career playing Native American roles. Wallace Clayton "Wah Wah" Jones (July 14, 1926 – July 27, 2014) was an American professional basketball player. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1949 to 1952 with the Indianapolis Olympians. Biography Jones was born in Harlan, Kentucky. He attended Harlan High School, where he set a national scoring record in basketball and led his school to a state championship. He was all-state in football, basketball and baseball. Jones attended the University of Kentucky, where he continued to play varsity football, basketball and baseball. He was twice All- SEC in football. In basketball, he was a three time All-American and four time All-SEC. He led the Wildcats to two NCAA Championships, in 1948 and 1949. Lillian Case Russell (born Lulu E. Case; April 3, 1876 – June 2, 1947), often credited as L. Case Russell, was an American screenwriter during Hollywood's silent era. She was married to actor John Lowell Russell. Biography Lulu E. Case was born in Yankton, Dakota Territory on April 3, 1876. She graduated from Yankton High School in 1893. She worked as a schoolteacher in her hometown before moving to New York to pursue a career as a writer; she wrote for a number of newspapers and magazines around the turn of the century. She married actor John Lowell Russell in Manhattan in 1901; they had two children, future cinematographer John L. Russell and future actress Evangeline Russell. By 1925, they had relocated to Los Angeles, where she wrote scripts for Vitagraph and he worked as an actor. She wrote more than 30 scripts between 1914 and 1926.
