Reccino Van Lommel
Reccino Van Lommel (born 30 May 1986) is a Belgian politician and a member of the Chamber of Representatives for Vlaams Belang since 2019. Biography Van Lommel studied commercial engineering at the University of Hasselt. From 2011 to 2014 he worked as an operational director for the ''Columbus Steel'' construction company before working for a business consultancy firm. In October 2014, Van Lommel succeeded Vlaams Belang leader Tom Van Grieken as chairman of the ''Vlaams Belang Jongeren'' - the youth wing of the VB, and performed this role until 2016. In the federal elections of 26 May 2019 , Van Lommel was elected from third place on the Antwerp constituency list to the Chamber of Representatives. He serves on the Commission for the Economy, Consumer Protection and Digital Agenda and the Commission for Energy, Environment and Climate. The Chamber of Representatives (Dutch: , french: link=no, Chambre des représentants, german: link=no, Abgeordnetenkammer) is one of the two chambers in the bicameral Federal Parliament of Belgium, the other being the Senate. Tom Jozef Irène Van Grieken (born 7 October 1986) is a Belgian politician and author who has served as leader of Vlaams Belang since October 2014. Early life Van Grieken was born in Antwerp and later moved to Mortsel where he served as a municipal councillor. His father is a retired police officer and his mother worked at a tobacconist store. He studied communications management at the Plantijn Hogeschool and worked in the advertising sector prior to entering politics full time. ''Vlaams Belang Jongeren'' (VBJ; Dutch for "Flemish Interest Youth") is the youth wing of the Vlaams Belang party. Until the conviction of the Vlaams Blok in 2004, the organisation was called Vlaams Blok Jongeren. When the party changed its name, so did the youth wing. The current chairman of VBJ is Filip Brusselmans, he replaced Bart Claes in 2020.
