Rebecca Gergalo
Rebecca Gergalo (born 16 March 2000) is a Finnish individual rhythmic gymnast. Early life and career Gergalo was born to a Russian mother and Ukrainian father, and she speaks Russian. She began training rhythmic gymnastics at the age of 4. 2016 She made her World Cup debut on February 26-28 at World Cup Espoo. She then competed at three more World Cups that year - Berlin, Baku and Kazan. 2017 After the retirement of Ekaterina Volkova, she got her spot in National team and continued competing at World Cup competitions. She competed at the 2017 European Championships in Budapest, Hungary, her first one. Rebecca competed with all four apparatus, finishing on 20th place with ribbon was her best result. Together with teammate Jouki Tikkanen and junior group, they took 11th place in Team competition. On August 30-September 3 she competed at the 2017 World Championships in Pesaro, Italy. 2018 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships
The 2018 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships were held in Sofia, Bulgaria, from 10 September to 16 September 2018 at Arena Armeec. The top three countries in the group all-around, Russia, Italy, and Bulgaria won the first three spots for the 2020 Olympic Games. Russia was the most successful nation of the competition with seven of the nine gold medals, and Bulgaria and Italy each won a title. On 11 September, Russia's Dina Averina won the first two gold medals of the competition, in the Hoop (rhythmic gymnastics), hoop and Ball (rhythmic gymnastics), ball event finals. Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships
The Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships are the world championships for the sport of rhythmic gymnastics. The tournament is promoted and organized by the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG). It is one of the three tournaments in rhythmic gymnastics officially organized by FIG, as well as the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup and the gymnastics competitions at the Olympic Games (in collaboration with the IOC and the federation of the country organising the Games). The first edition of the World Championships was held in 1963, a time when the sport was known as modern gymnastics.
