Reamer
A reamer is a type of rotary cutting tool used in metalworking. Precision reamers are designed to enlarge the size of a previously formed hole by a small amount but with a high degree of accuracy to leave smooth sides. There are also non-precision reamers which are used for more basic enlargement of holes or for removing burrs. The process of enlarging the hole is called reaming. There are many different types of reamer and they may be designed for use as a hand tool or in a machine tool, such as a milling machine or drill press. Construction A typical reamer consists of a set of parallel straight or helical cutting edges along the length of a cylindrical body. Each cutting edge is ground at a slight angle and with a slight undercut below the cutting edge. Reamers must combine both hardness in the cutting edges, for long life, and toughness, so that the tool does not fail under the normal forces of use. Citrus Reamer
A citrus reamer, also known as a lemon reamer or simply a reamer, is a small kitchen utensil used to extract the juice from a lemon or other small citrus fruit. The reamer extracts juice using a convexly tapered conical mandrel, with troughs or ridges running the length of the mandrel. The mandrel is mounted either within a dish to catch the juice or on a cylindrical handle. The mandrel is usually made of wood, plastic, or metal. The handheld reamer, which is held in one hand while the lemon or lime is held in the other, is a relatively new adaptation of the traditional glass or plastic citrus reamer (with a juice rim) that was placed on a table and pressed downward. To use the reamer, the user first slices a citrus fruit in half along its equatorial midsection. The mandrel is inserted into the exposed flesh of the fruit and then either the reamer or the fruit is twisted to grind the flesh and extract the juice. Cory Reamer
Cory Reamer (born May 6, 1987) is a former American football linebacker who played in the National Football League. He played college football at Alabama. High school career Reamer played defensive back and linebacker at high school powerhouse Hoover High School. Hoover won the state championship in 2002, 2003 and 2004. Reamer was the MVP of the 2004 championship game in which he had five tackles, two blocked punts (returning one for a touchdown) and a 42-yard interception return that set up another score. Future Alabama teammate and NFL quarterback John Parker Wilson was also on Hoover's championship teams. College career Reamer switched to linebacker at Alabama. His first two seasons were plagued by injury, and he was given a medical redshirt in his second season. As a sophomore in 2007 he was a starter on special teams. Robert Reamer
Robert Chambers Reamer (1873–1938) was an American architect, most noted for the Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone National Park. A number of his works are listed on the National Register of Historic Places for their architecture. Reamer was born in and spent his early life in Oberlin, Ohio. He left home at the age of thirteen and went to work in an architect's office in Detroit as a draftsman. By the age of twenty-one, Reamer had moved to San Diego and had opened the architectural office of Zimmer & Reamer in partnership with Samuel B. Zimmer. The firm produced a wide variety of projects, but the only surviving example of Zimmer & Reamer's work is the George H. Hill Block in the Gaslamp District. The partnership dissolved in 1898, but Reamer continued to work on his own, including work at the Hotel del Coronado.
