Real Club de Polo de Barcelona ( en, Barcelona Royal Polo Club) is a country club in Barcelona, Spain. Established in 1897, it had 9000 members at the time of the 1992 Summer Olympics. Normally used for polo, field hockey, tennis, squash, and swimming by its members, the club was the venue for the Olympic equestrian competition (dressage, jumping, and the eventing finals) and the riding portion of the modern pentathlon events. 2018–19 Copa Del Rey De Hockey Hierba
The 2019 Copa del Rey de Hockey Hierba is the 102nd edition of the Copa del Rey de Hockey Hierba, Spain's annual field hockey cup competition. It was held from 22 to 24 March at Club de Campo in Madrid. The eight best teams from the first half of the 2018–19 División de Honor will participate in the tournament. The participating teams are Real Club de Polo, Atlètic Terrassa, Club Egara, the hosts Club de Campo, Junior, CD Terrassa, Tenis and Jolaseta. Club Egara are the defending champions, having won the 2017–18 edition. However they were beaten in the semi-finals by the eventual champions Real Club de Polo 5–4 after a shoot-out. Real Club de Polo won a record-extending 30th title by defeating Atlètic Terrassa 3–1 in the final. Results The draw took place on 29 January 2019. Venues Of The 1992 Summer Olympics
For the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, a total of forty-three sports venues were used. Barcelona's first bid for the Summer Olympics was the 1924 Games, losing to Paris. The city tried again in 1936, losing to Berlin. The city subsequently planned to host the People's Olympiad in that year, as a protest against holding the Olympics in Nazi Germany, but were forced to cancel the event because of the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War. Following their success of hosting the Mediterranean Games in 1955, Barcelona would try again to host the Summer Olympics, this time seeking the 1972 Games and losing out to Munich. Montjuïc Stadium, built in 1927-9, would be refurbished during the mid to late 1980s in Barcelona's effort to win the 1992 Summer Olympics, which they did in October 1986. Viçens Ruiz Torruela (born 31 October 1991) is a Spanish field hockey player who plays as a midfielder for Real Club de Polo and the Spanish national team. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, he competed for the national team in the men's tournament. Club career Ruiz played for Club Egara until 2016 when he moved to the Netherlands to play for HGC.
