Raymond O'Connor (footballer)
Francis Raymond O'Connor (28 January 1913 – q4 1980), generally known as Raymond O'Connor but also as Frank O'Connor, was an English footballer who played as a right half in the Football League for Mansfield Town and Darlington. He was on the books of Portsmouth without playing League football for them, and also played non-league football for Jarrow and Gillingham. Life and career O'Connor was born in Jarrow, County Durham. After two seasons playing football for his hometown club, he signed for Football League First Division club Portsmouth. He stayed with the club for two seasons, and although he played regularly for their junior teams in the Southern League midweek section and the London Combination, he never appeared in the Football League. Described as "an attacking type of wing half hohas also appeared at inside forward", he signed on a free transfer for Mansfield Town of the Third Division South in 1937. Ray O'Connor
Raymond James O'Connor (6 March 1926 – 25 February 2013) was an Australian politician who served as the premier of Western Australia from 25 January 1982 to 25 February 1983. He was a member of parliament from 1959 to 1984, and a minister in the governments of David Brand and Charles Court. A controversial figure, he served six months jail in 1994 for stealing a $25,000 cheque from the Bond Corporation. Early life O'Connor was born on 6 March 1926 in Perth, Western Australia, to Alphonsus Maurice O’Connor, a police officer, and Annie Moran. O'Connor's father had an interest in politics, founding a branch of the Labor Party in Quairading. He left the Labor Party in the 1950s though, thinking that it was "becoming a bit communistic". Ray O'Connor attended school in the Wheatbelt towns of Narrogin and York, as well as St Patrick's Boys' School in Perth, leaving school at the age of 14. Remo Capitani (19 December 1927 – 14 February 2014), also known as Ray O'Connor and Ray O'Conner, was an Italian actor from Rome. He was probably best known for his role in the western ''They Call Me Trinity'' as Mezcal, a Mexican thief. Capitani died on 14 February 2014 in his hometown of Rome. He was aged 86.
