Ray Stannard Baker
Ray Stannard Baker (April 17, 1870 – July 12, 1946) (also known by his pen name David Grayson) was an American journalist, historian, biographer, and author. Biography Baker was born in Lansing, Michigan. After graduating from the Michigan State Agricultural College (now Michigan State University), he attended law school at the University of Michigan in 1891 before launching his career as a journalist in 1892 with the ''Chicago News-Record,'' where he covered the Pullman Strike and Coxey's Army in 1894. In 1896, Ray Stannard Baker married Jessie Beal. They had four children: Alice Beal (1897), James Stannard (1889), Roger Denio (1902), and Rachel Moore (1906). In 1898, Baker joined the staff of ''McClure's'', a pioneer muckraking magazine, and quickly rose to prominence along with Lincoln Steffens and Ida Tarbell. Ray Baker is a Nashville, Tennessee, Nashville record producer. His first hit record produced was ''I Just Started Hatin' Cheating Songs Today'' by Moe Bandy in 1974. He also produced ''It Was Always so Easy to Find an Unhappy Woman'' and ''It's a Cheatin' Situation'', both by Moe Bandy. He also produced all of Connie Smith's albums under Columbia Records, Columbia and Monument Records, starting with ''That's the Way Love Goes (Connie Smith album), That's the Way Love Goes'' in 1974. Baker also produced duets by Moe Bandy and Joe Stampley. "Good Ole Boys" was a million-selling duet in 1979. Ray Baker (born July 9, 1948) is an American theater, television and film actor. Baker was born in Omaha, Nebraska. He is a long time character actor with over 100 credits on television and film. Baker is credited either as Ray or Raymond. He grew up in Denver, Colorado and graduated from Denver University, before moving to New York and living and working there for twenty years. Baker appeared on and off Broadway and in regional theatre. He currently lives in Los Angeles, is married to actress and playwright Colleen Dodson, and continues working in theatre, movies, and television. Ray Jerome Baker (December 1, 1880 – October, 1972) was an American photographer, film maker and lecturer. His photographs are among some of the earliest professional works in Humboldt County, California and later in Hawaii where his work focused on the people of that state. Biography Baker was born near Rockford, Illinois in 1880. From 1898 until 1903 he lived in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where he studied at Mechanic Arts High School and took his first photographs before attending the University of Minnesota for one semester. In 1903, he moved to Portland, Oregon and shortly thereafter, in 1904, to Eureka, California. On his arrival in Eureka, his studio was in a tent until moving into a building at 5th and F Streets where he ran a commercial photography studio and became a lifelong friend of the writer Jack London. Raymond Baker (born 1 November 1936) is a British chemist and former Chief Executive of the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council. Education Baker was educated at Ilkeston Grammar School and the University of Leicester, where he gained his PhD for research titled "'' Detritiation Reactions in Aromatic Systems''" in 1962. Pirani Ameena Begum ( Hindustani: / ; born Ora Ray Baker; 8 May 1892 – 1 May 1949) was the wife of Sufi Master Inayat Khan and the mother of their four children: World War II SOE agent Noor-un-Nisa (1914-1944), Vilayat (1916-2004), Hidayat (1917-2016) and Khair-un-Nisa (Claire) (1919-2011). Life Baker first met Khan in New York in 1911 when her half-brother and guardian, Pierre Bernard, engaged the master musician and mystic to teach his ward Indian music. However, he forbade the marriage and Khan sailed for London.
