Ray Chang (baseball)
Raymond Bo-shue Chang () (born August 24, 1983) is a Chinese American former baseball infielder. He played in the 2009, 2013, 2017, and 2023 World Baseball Classics for the Chinese national team. Career Chang attended Rockhurst High School and played shortstop on baseball team. He enrolled at Rockhurst University, where he played college baseball from 2002 to 2005. He signed with the San Diego Padres as a non-drafted free agent in 2005. That year, he split time between the AZL Padres and High-A Lake Elsinore Storm. In 2006, he played 26 games with the Single-A Fort Wayne Wizards, hitting .286 with 26 hits and 19 runs over 91 at-bats paired with three home runs and 8 RBI. That season he also played for the Double-A Mobile BayBears and the Triple-A Portland Beavers. In 2007, Chang split time between Lake Elsinore and Portland, where he hit a cumulative .269/.323/.381 with 4 home runs and 42 RBI. Infielder
An infielder is a baseball player stationed at one of four defensive "infield" positions on the baseball field. Standard arrangement of positions In a game of baseball, two teams of nine players take turns playing offensive and defensive roles. Although there are many rules to baseball, in general the team playing offense tries to score runs by batting balls into the field that enable runners to make a complete circuit of the four bases. The Mobile BayBears were a Minor League Baseball team based in Mobile, Alabama, United States. The team, which played in the Southern League, served as the Double-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres (1997–2006), Arizona Diamondbacks (2007–2016), and Los Angeles Angels (2017–2019). The Altoona Curve are a Minor League Baseball team based in Altoona, Pennsylvania, named after nearby Horseshoe Curve (but also alluding to the curveball, a type of pitch).
