Raw (Ra Album)
''Raw'' is a 2006 live album by alternative metal band Ra. Songs are taken from their former albums ''From One'', and ''Duality''. "Don't Turn Away" is a newly recorded track and is also included in their 2008 album ''Black Sun''. Vocalist Sahaj Ticotin broke the record for the longest single note for a male vocalist in a song, having held a high B for 24 seconds during "Skorn". Sahaj overtook the previous record of 20.2 seconds which was held by Morten Harket in his song "Summer Moved On". Ra released an e-card on September 12, 2006, where the song "Don't Turn Away" could be streamed. The entire album of ''Raw'' can be downloaded for free on Ra's website. Ra is an American alternative metal band from Los Angeles, taking their name from the Ra, Egyptian sun god, Ra. The band was formed in 1996, and took off around 2002, when their song "Do You Call My Name" from their album ''From One'' was released. Their music was described as "exotic yet familiar, heavy yet funky, direct yet sophisticated, sensual yet soulful, unrelenting yet cathartic." Jeremy Andrew "Andy" Johns (20 May 1950 – 7 April 2013) was a British sound engineer and record producer who worked on several well-known rock albums, including the Rolling Stones' ''Exile on Main St.'' (1972), Television's ''Marquee Moon'' (1977), and a series of albums by Led Zeppelin during the 1970s. His sound is exemplified by Free's album ''Highway'', which he engineered and produced. "Fallen Angels" is a song by American alternative metal band Ra. The song was released as the lead single from the band's second studio album ''Duality'' in May 2005. The song was inspired by the Kevin Smith film ''Dogma''. Recall Early versions of ''Duality'' were recalled due to a manufacturing glitch. The glitch was present on "Fallen Angels" that caused skipping throughout the song. The glitch was corrected and subsequent releases of ''Duality'' feature a sticker on the cover noting that it is a remastered version. Reception "Fallen Angels" has received positive reviews. Morten Harket () (born September 14, 1959) is a Norwegian vocalist and songwriter, who is the lead singer of the synthpop/rock band A-ha. A-ha has released 10 studio albums to date, and topped the charts internationally after their breakthrough hit "Take On Me" in 1985. Harket has also released six solo albums. ''Black Sun'' is the third studio album from the alternative metal band Ra, released on September 23, 2008. " Broken Hearted Soul" was released as a single on Christmas Day 2007, later becoming available on iTunes on June 17, 2008. ''Black Sun'' was released to iTunes on September 16, 2008. Some retailers did not carry this album due to distribution problems (unverified). The album reached #193 on the ''Billboard'' 200. It also reached #2 on Heatseekers Albums, and #30 on Independent Albums. ''Black Sun'' has sold more than 20,000 copies, while its single "Broken Hearted Soul" has sold more than 18,000.
