Ravella Venkatarama Rao
Ravella Venkatarama Rao (30 January 1927 – 10 December 2013) was a Telugu-language writer and poet. He wrote under pen-name, ''Jayasri''. Life He was born in Gokinepally village, Mudigonda, Khammamet (now Khammamm) Hyderabad State. He fought in the Telangana armed struggle against the Nizam and feudal lords. He was jailed for four years. Hyderabad State
Hyderabad State () was a princely state located in the south-central Deccan region of India with its capital at the city of Hyderabad. It is now divided into the present-day state of Telangana, the Kalyana-Karnataka region of Karnataka, and the Marathwada region of Maharashtra in India. The state was ruled from 1724 to 1857 by the Nizam, who was initially a viceroy of the Mughal empire in the Deccan. Hyderabad gradually became the first princely state to come under British paramountcy signing a subsidiary alliance agreement. During British rule in 1901 the state had an average revenue of Rs. 417,000,000, making it the wealthiest princely state in India. The native inhabitants of Hyderabad Deccan, regardless of ethnic origin, are called "Mulki" (countryman), a term still used today. The Telangana Rebellion popularly known as Telangana Sayuda Poratam (Telugu : తెలంగాణ సాయుధ పోరాటం) of 1946–51 was a communist-led insurrection of peasants against the princely state of Hyderabad in the region of Telangana that escalated out of agitations in 1944–46. Hyderabad was a feudal monarchy where most of the land was concentrated in the hands of landed aristocrats known as Doras in Telangana. Feudal exploitation in the region was more severe compared to others of India; the had complete power over the peasants and could subject them to agricultural slavery. Conditions worsened during the 1930s due to the Great Depression and a transition towards commercial crops. . Daasarathi krishnamacharya, popularly known as Daasarathi, also spelled as Daasharathi (22 July 1925 – 5 November 1987) () was a Telugu poet and writer. Daasarathi holds the titles ''Abhyudhaya kavi'' and ''Kalaprapurna''. He was also the recipient of Sahitya Academy Award for his poetic work book ''Timiramto Samaram'' (Fight against Darkness) in 1974. He was also chosen as ''Aasthana Kavi'' of the Andhra Pradesh Government. Early life Krishnamacharyulu Dasarathi was born as Daasarathi on 22 July 1925 in a middle-class Vaishnava Brahmin family. His native village Chinnaguduru is in the Maripeda Mandal, Mahabubabad district. An orthodox, but discreet, Vaishnava bhakta, he was an erudite scholar of Indian Puranas with a fine grip on Telugu, Sanskrit and Tamil languages. Gurajada Appa Rao
Gurajada Venkata Apparao (21 September 1862 – 30 November 1915) was an Indian playwright, dramatist, poet, and writer known for his works in Telugu theatre. Rao wrote the play ''Kanyasulkam'' in 1892, which is considered as the greatest play in the Telugu language. One of the pioneers of Indian theatre, Rao holds the titles ''Kavisekhara'' and ''Abyudaya Kavitha Pithamahudu''.20th Century Telugu Luminaries, Potti Sriramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad, 2005 In 1910, Rao scripted the widely known Telugu patriotic song " Desamunu Preminchumanna".
