West Virginia's 11th Senate District
West Virginia's 11th Senate district is one of 17 districts in the West Virginia Senate. It is currently represented by Republicans Bill Hamilton and Robert Karnes. All districts in the West Virginia Senate elect two members to staggered four-year terms. Geography District 11 covers all of Nicholas, Pendleton, Pocahontas, Randolph, Upshur, and Webster Counties, as well as some of southern Grant County, in the eastern part of the state. Communities within the district include Richwood, Summersville, Craigsville, Webster Springs, Marlinton, Buckhannon, Elkins, Franklin, and Petersburg. The district overlaps with the state's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd congressional districts, and with the 32nd, 41st, 43rd, 44th, 45th, 46th, 54th, and 55th districts of the West Virginia House of Delegates. Gregory Tucker
Gregory Alan Tucker (born August 3, 1957) is an American politician and a former Democratic member of the West Virginia Senate, having represented the 11th district from 2010 to 2014. Education Tucker earned his BS from West Virginia University and his JD from Capital University Law School. Elections *2010 Tucker challenged District 11 incumbent Senator Randy White and won the May 11, 2010 Democratic Primary with 6,147 votes (55.6%), and won the three-way November 2, 2010 General election with 14,544 votes (54.4%) against Republican nominee Adam Milligan and Libertarian candidate Thomas Thacker. 2006 Tucker initially challenged District 11 incumbent Democratic Senator White in the three-way 2006 Democratic Primary but lost to Senator White, who was re-elected in the November 7, 2006 General election. Webster Springs, West Virginia
Addison, commonly known as Webster Springs, is a town in and the county seat of Webster County, West Virginia, United States. Although it was incorporated as Addison in 1892, it is more frequently referred to as Webster Springs, the name of the town's post office. It was named for Addison McLaughlin, upon whose land the town was originally laid out. The population was 731 at the 2020 census. The town was famous in the late 19th and early 20th centuries for its numerous salt sulfur water wells. People believed that the water from the wells had medicinal qualities. Webster Springs sits at the confluence of the Elk River and its Back Fork. The town has numerous shops, retail stores, grocery stores, pharmacies, a motel, and several restaurants.
