Ramón Jáuregui (president Of Athletic)
Ramón de Aras Jáuregui (1881 – 1966) was a Spanish politician who was one of the most important figures in the Basque society in the first quarter of the 20th century. He was a city councilor from 1913 to 1917 and was a patron of several painters of the time, such as DarÃo de Regoyos. Like so many other Basque fortunes of his time, he dedicated large sums of money to creating a vast and valued art collection, being one of the most noted and important collections in Bilbao. He was an honorary member and treasurer of the Athletic Club (partly financed by his own pocket) and served as the club's 4th president of Athletic Bilbao between 1906 and 1908. Under his presidency, the club merged with Unión Vizcaino to form Bizcaya, which was specially created to take part in the 1907 Copa del Rey, endured internal problems, and suffered a drought of titles. Tapestry
Tapestry is a form of textile art, traditionally woven by hand on a loom. Tapestry is weft-faced weaving, in which all the warp threads are hidden in the completed work, unlike most woven textiles, where both the warp and the weft threads may be visible. Mario Arana MendÃvil (24 May 1884 – 22 March 1931) was a Spanish politician who served as a mayor of Bilbao between 1916 and 1919, and a footballer who played as a forward for Athletic Club. Early life and education Arana was born on 24 May 1884 in Bilbao to an industrial and liberal father, Francisco Arana Lupardo, a member of the ''El Sitio Society'' and councilor of the Bilbao City Council in 1883–85, representing the Liberal Democrat party. Luis Márquez Marmolejo (1876 – 1930) was a Spanish football executive who was the first-ever president of Athletic Club. He is regarded as one of the most important figures in the amateur beginnings of Athletic Club, being among the seven founders of the club in 1898, and then serving the club as its first president between 1901 and 1902, when he was replaced by Juan Astorquia. Manuel Prast RodrÃguez de Llano was a footballer who played as a striker for Madrid FC between 1904–1908 and 1912–1914. 1902 Copa De La Coronación
The 1902 Copa de la Coronación was a football competition in honour of the coronation of Alfonso XIII of Spain. The Royal Spanish Football Federation does not recognize it as the first season of the Copa del Rey, which began the following year. The competition was thought up after Carlos Padrós, later president of Madrid FC, suggested a football competition to celebrate the coronation of Alfonso XIII. Four other teams joined Madrid for the first competition: FC Barcelona, Club Español de Foot-Ball, Bizcaya (a combination of Athletic Club and Bilbao Football Club) and New Foot-Ball Club.
