Ralph O. Rychener
Ralph Orlando Rychener (March 1, 1897 – February 12, 1962) was an American physician and basketball player. He was born in Archbold, Ohio in March 1897. While attending the University of Michigan, he played three years on the school's basketball team. He was one of the leading scorers on the 1917–18 and 1918–19 teams, and the captain of the 1919–20 team. After receiving his medical degree from Michigan, he was a resident at the University of Michigan Hospital for three years. Rychener then moved to Memphis where he practiced as an ophthalmologist for more than 30 years. He also served as an associate professor at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. He was elected to the American Ophthalmological Society in 1933. In 1951, he received the University of Michigan's Distinguished Alumni Service Award. Archbold, Ohio
Archbold is a village in Fulton County, Ohio, United States. The population was 4,346 at the 2010 census. Archbold is home to Northwest State Community College. It was designated a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation in 1983. History Archbold was founded in 1855 when the railroad was extended to that point. The village was probably named for John Archbald, a railroad promoter, though another tradition is that the name is an amalgamation of Arch and Bald, two other railroad officials. Michigan Wolverines Men's Basketball
The Michigan Wolverines men's basketball team is the College basketball, intercollegiate men's basketball program representing the University of Michigan. The school competes in the Big Ten Conference in NCAA Division I, Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Michigan Wolverines, Wolverines play home basketball games at the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Michigan has won one NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship, NCAA Championship as well as two National Invitation Tournaments (NIT), 15 Big Ten Conference titles and two Big Ten Conference men's basketball tournament, Big Ten tournament titles. The 1917–18 Michigan Wolverines men's basketball team represented the University of Michigan in intercollegiate basketball during the 1917–18 season. The team was Michigan's second varsity basketball team and the first after an eight-year hiatus following the 1908–09 season. With no experienced collegiate players to draw from, the squad started from scratch and compiled a record of 6–12. They finished last in the Big Ten Conference with a record of 0–10 against conference opponents, the only winless conference season in Michigan history.
