Railway Lines Of Poland
Every railway line in Poland has its own number, with the lowest numbers attached to the most important and most strategic routes. Line number 1 links Warsaw Centralna with Katowice Central Station, while line number 999, the last one on the list, is a side track, joining Piła Main with a secondary-importance station of Piła North (Pila Północ). Warszawa Centralna Railway Station
Warszawa Centralna, in English known as Warsaw Central Station, is the primary railway station in Warsaw, Poland. Completed in 1975, the station is located on the Warsaw Cross-City Line and features four underground island platforms with eight tracks in total. It is served by the long-distance domestic and international trains of PKP Intercity and Polregio as well as some of the regional trains operated by Koleje Mazowieckie. Adjacent to the north side of the building is a bus station that serves as the central hub for night bus lines, and Złote Tarasy shopping center. Grodzisk Mazowiecki–Zawiercie Railway
The Central Rail Line ( pl, Centralna Magistrala Kolejowa, ''CMK'', also designated by PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe as ''Rail Line No. 4'', Polish: ''Linia kolejowa nr 4''), was completed on 23 December 1977. Designed for speeds of up to , it would have been the first high speed railway line in Europe but high speed service was never introduced on the line. The line goes from the city of Zawiercie in Zagłębie Dąbrowskie region of southern Poland, to Grodzisk Mazowiecki in the suburbs of Warsaw. Skierniewice Railway Station
Skierniewice is a city in central Poland with 47,031 inhabitants (2021), situated in the Łódź Voivodeship (since 1999), previously capital of Skierniewice Voivodeship (1975–1998). It is the capital of Skierniewice County. The town is situated almost exactly halfway between Łódź and Warsaw. Through the town runs the small river Łupia, also called Skierniewka. Kraków Główny, in English Kraków Main, is the largest and the most centrally located railway station in Kraków, Poland. Vistula River Railroad (Polish: Kolej Nadwiślańska) was a railroad system, opened on August 17, 1877. It ran from northwest to southeast, through the territory of the former Congress Poland, known after the November Uprising as Privislinsky Krai (part of the Russian Empire). Starting in Mława, which back then was located near the border with the German Empire, the connection ran through Ciechanów, Warsaw, Dęblin, Lublin, and Chełm, to the strategic railroad junction of Kovel (now Ukraine). In Mława, the system reached the Prussian railway network, as the nearby German border station of Działdowo (Soldau) was another important junction, with connections to Gdańsk (Danzig), Olsztyn (Allenstein), and Toruń (Thorn).
