Carl Christian Rafn
Carl Christian Rafn (January 16, 1795 – October 20, 1864) was a Danish historian, translator and antiquarian. His scholarship to a large extent focused on translation of Old Norse literature and related Northern European ancient history. He was also noted for his early advocacy of the recognition of Norse colonization of North America. Biography Carl Christian Rafn was born in Brahesborg on the island of Fyn in Funen County, Denmark. After attending the Odense Cathedral School (''Odense Katedralskole''), he entered the University of Copenhagen where he earned his law degree and graduated (1816). After having been employed as a lieutenant with the Funen light dragoons in Odense, in 1820, he became a teacher in Latin and grammar at the Army Cadet Academy (''Landkadetakademiet'') in Copenhagen. Carl Gottlob Rafn
Carl Gottlob Rafn (31 July 1769 – 17 May 1808) was a Danish Enlightenment scientist and civil servant. He wrote influential papers on a broad array of basic and applied sciences. Life Rafn was born in Viborg, Denmark as the son of a judge. He began studies of medicine and botany at the University of Copenhagen in 1788, but later changed to veterinary science with P.C. Abildgaard at the Veterinary School in Copenhagen. He never took any final exam, however. Instead, he became Assessor in the Ministries of Agriculture and Commerce under the Danish absolute monarchy and filled various other posts, such as being the first director of a new Royal Aquavit Distillery, which was founded on his own initiative. Lina Rafn Sørensen (born 12 August 1976), known professionally as Lina Rafn is a Danish female singer, songwriter and producer active in the band Infernal. Additionally, she is a former VJ on the Danish music video channel ''The Voice TV Danmark'', presenting various charts. Lina Rafn was born in Copenhagen, and was a professional dancer from a very early age. She made her professional singing debut in 1997 with the founding of Infernal with Paw Lagermann and Søren Haahr. Infernal's debut single, " Sorti de L'enfer" was an instrumental dance-track. From there on, she gained worldwide fame and recognition for her work. She is noted for her strong vocals and, along with Paw, created the hit "From Paris to Berlin". Robert Rafn
Robert Rafn (27 February 1878 – 1964) was a Norwegian businessperson and politician for the Conservative Party. He was born in Porsgrund as a son of shipmaster Hans Christian Rafn (1833–1899) and Hanna Annette Halvorsen (1847–1939). He took technical education in Norway in 1895, and graduated in 1898 from Technicum Mittweida. From 1899 to 1905 he worked as an assistant of Thomas A. Edison in Orange, New Jersey. He later worked as a chemist at a works in Berlin before running his own company named Irradiar in Nuremberg until 1915. He returned to Norway and settled in Moss. He was a manager at Moss Melkefabrik from 1916 to 1924 and technical director at Moss Aktiemølle from 1925 to 1945. He was also a supervisory council member of Hafslund. Caspar Conrad Rafn
Caspar Conrad Rafn (1763–1830) was a Dano-Norwegian politician. He served as the first County Governor of Nordre Trondhjems county from 1805 until 1815. During his time as County Governor, he lived at Gudmundhus in Verdal. In late 1814, when the Kingdom of Denmark-Norway was dissolved and the Kingdom of Norway was joined in a personal union with Sweden, he announced his resignation. In 1815, he left Norway and moved back to Denmark. He became a government official in Randers for a time and then later was a judge in Nørhald, Støvring, Galten municipalities.
