Rafiqul Islam, also known as Dr Hafiz Rafiqul Islam is an Indian politician serving as a member of Assam Legislative Assembly from AIUDF since 2011. Dr Islam got elected in 2021 with the highest margin of votes i.e. 1.4 lakh, in the state of assam from Jania constituency, he has also served as a Guest Professor in Gauhati University.Islam is the Chief Whip for AIUDF in ALA, General Secretary and Spokesperson of AIUDF party. He was born in Kalgachia, Barpeta Assam in 1979. Kalgachia
Kalgachia is a sub-urban town in Barpeta district, Assam, India. It is west of district headquarters Barpeta. History It is not clear when the village was established, but a few official document states that the village was established in the 16th century. It is believed that due to the large population of ''Kal Gaach'' (Banana tree), the name has become Kalgachia (meaning ''place where banana trees are found'').The name of this village was Kalitapara before the settlement of the indigenous Miyas. The 3rd proposed Kalgachia sub division has been formally declared as 'Kalgachia civil Sub division' of Barpeta district on 1 January 2016 as a new year gift by then-Congress-led state government. Barpeta (Pron: bə(r)ˈpeɪtə / bə(r)ˈpi:tə ) is a town in Barpeta district of the state of Assam in India and is district headquarters. The city is located north west of Guwahati and is one of the major cities in Western Assam. All India United Democratic Front
The All India United Democratic Front (also known as AIUDF and ''Sarva Bharatiya Sanyukt Ganatantric Morcha'') is a political party active in the Indian state of Assam.
