Rafig Mehdiyev
Rafig Mahmud oghlu Mehdiyev ( az, Rafiq Mahmud oğlu Mehdiyev, June 10, 1933 — November 28, 2009) was an Azerbaijani painter and professor. He was awarded the title of the People's Artist of Azerbaijan, and served as a professor and chairman of the graphics section of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan. He was a presidential scholarship holder. Biography Rafig Mehdiyev was born on June 10, 1933, in Shahbuz District of Nakhchivan ASSR. He graduated from Azim Azimzade art college (1948–1953), and graphic faculty of Surikov Moscow State Art Institute (1953–1958). He worked as a teacher at A. Azimzade art college (1962), then as a dean at Azerbaijan State Art Institute, and as a teacher at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts. He received the title of associate professor in 1988, and professor in 1992. Since 2003, he had been a presidential pensioner. Nakhchivan ASSR
The Nakhichevan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, abbreviated as Nakhichevan ASSR was an autonomous republic within the Azerbaijan SSR, itself a republic within the Soviet Union. It was formed on 16 March 1921 and became a part of the Azerbaijan SSR proper on 9 February 1924. The first flag of the Nakhichevan ASSR was introduced in 1937 and contained both Azerbaijani and Armenian text. In the 1940s, when the Azerbaijani Latin alphabet was being replaced by Cyrillic, the previous flag was replaced by a Soviet flag with the Azerbaijani Cyrillic text "Нахчыван МССР" in gold and a dark blue bar along the fess. In December 1918, with the support of Azerbaijan's Musavat Party, Jafargulu Khan Nakhichevanski declared the Republic of Aras in the Nakhichevan uyezd of the former Erivan Governorate assigned to Armenia by Wardrop. People's, branded as ''People's Viennaline'' until May 2018, and legally ''Altenrhein Luftfahrt GmbH'', is an Austrian airline headquartered in Vienna. It operates scheduled and charter passenger flights mainly from its base at St. Gallen-Altenrhein Airport in Switzerland. Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts is higher art school that is located in the city of Baku in Republic of Azerbaijan. It was founded in 2000 by a presidential decree. The academy aims the only higher education institution in the country that carrying out educational programs of specialized secondary school, high school and other levels of education in accordance with the requirements of higher art education. The academy is officially accredited by the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan. ASAFA offers courses and programs in higher education degrees such as bachelor's degrees in several areas of study.
