Raffi Cavoukian, ( hy, Րաֆֆի, born July 8, 1948), known professionally by the mononym Raffi, is a Canadian singer-lyricist and author of Armenian descent born in Egypt, best known for his children's music. He developed his career as a " global troubadour" to become a music producer, author, entrepreneur, and founder of the Raffi Foundation for Child Honouring, a vision for global restoration. Early life Raffi was born in Cairo, Egypt, to Armenian parents who fled Turkey during the Armenian genocide. In 1958, his family immigrated to Canada, eventually settling in Toronto, Ontario. His mother named him after the Armenian novelist Raffi. His father, Arto Cavoukian, was a well-known portrait photographer with a studio on Bloor Street in Toronto. Raffi (novelist)
Hakob Melik Hakobian ( hy, Յակոբ Մելիք-Յակոբեան ( classical); 1835–1888), better known by his pen name Raffi ( hy, Րաֆֆի; fa, رافی), was an Armenian author and leading figure in 19th-century Armenian literature. Biography Raffi was the eldest son in a family of hereditary Armenian gentry and was born in 1835 in Payajuk, a village of northwestern Iran. His father was a wealthy farmer, merchant and the highest civil authority of the village. Thus, Raffi’s economic background and special status within the family eventually made it possible for him to acquire a privileged education, one in which he was exposed to the full spectrum of classical, Russian and Western European masterpieces of literature. His education began in the home of the village priest, Father Mser. Raffi Aghasi Boghosyan ( bg, Рафи Ахаси Бохосян, translit=Rafi Akhasi Bokhosyan; hy, Րաֆֆի Աղասի Բողոսյան; born 29 January 1993), also known simply as Raffi or Rafi, is a Bulgarian singer and percussions player of Armenian origin who won the first ever Bulgarian ''X Factor'' on the final held on 11 December 2011. He won a contract with Virginia Records and the chance to record a single with a foreign composer and producer in a studio outside Bulgaria. Boghosyan was born in Burgas to Aghas and Elizabeth Bohosyan, both Armenians. He studied in Business in Burgas majoring in Economics and Management. He is a self-taught percussion player.
