Rafael Pereira da Silva (; born 9 July 1990), commonly known as Rafael or Rafael da Silva, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays for Campeonato Brasileiro Série A club Botafogo. He normally plays as a right-back, but can also play on the right side of midfield. He and his twin brother, Fábio, began their careers with Fluminense before joining Manchester United in January 2008. After seven years in England that included three Premier League titles, Rafael joined Lyon in August 2015 for a fee of up to £2.5 million. Rafael has two caps for Brazil, having made his debut in a 3–1 victory over Denmark on 26 May 2012. Club career Rafael Silva started his professional football career with Campeonato Brasileiro Série A side Coritiba in the 2012 league season. He would make his debut on 8 April 2012 against Cianorte in the Campeonato Paranaense in a 3–1 victory. This would be followed by his first goal for the club on 29 April 2012 against Roma Apucarana in the Campeonato Paranaense in a 3–1 win. Rafael Carlos da Silva (; born 11 May 1987) is a Brazilian heavyweight judoka. He became Brazil's first Olympic medalist in the judo heavyweight division (>100 kg), winning a bronze medal in 2012. Silva won the Pan American Judo Championships in 2012–2014 and 2016, and qualified for the 2016 Olympics.
