Radio Tekee Murron
''The Radio Burglary'' ( fi, Radio tekee murron) is a 1951 Finnish crime comedy directed by Matti Kassila and starring Hannes Häyrinen. The idea for the movie came from an actual radio program done by sensationalist reporter Usko Santavuori, in which he committed a fake burglary of which local police forces had not been made aware, with the exception of the commander. Plot Toivo Teräsvuori (Häyrinen) is a young radio journalist who's looking for new, interesting topics on which to report. After covering a skydive on a live broadcast, he gets the idea to stage a fake burglary for his next daring stunt. He shares this idea with his friend and fellow radio employee Laakso, whom he persuades to go along with the plan without notifying either their superiors in the radio station, nor the police. Matti Kassila
Matti Kassila (12 January 1924 – 13 December 2018) was a Finnish film director who achieved fame as one of the most prominent Finnish filmmakers in the 1950s and 1960s. He is most famous for the series of four Inspector Palmu movies, based on the character created by Mika Waltari. During his long career, he won seven Jussi Awards, including a concrete Jussi for lifetime achievement, and received numerous other commendations. His 1959 film '' Punainen viiva'' was entered into the 1st Moscow International Film Festival. He was also one of the screenwriters for the 1968 film ''Here, Beneath the North Star'', directed by Edvin Laine. Usko Santavuori
Usko Volmar Abel Santavuori (16 January 1922, in Viipuri – 1 June 2003, in Espoo) was a Finnish sensationalist radio reporter. He achieved fame by groundbreaking programs where he took himself and the microphone to participate in various extraordinary events, such as diving and parachuting, instead of remaining a passive observer. Santavuori's most significant feat was his early reality show in 1950, where he committed a fake burglary, and was arrested by the police, who had no idea of that the criminal they'd come to arrest was a journalist and everything they said was being recorded and later broadcast. The only official who was notified of the event in advance was the chief of police, who had given his blessing. Santavuori's program aroused discussion due to the violence and uncouth language used by the arresting officers. ''The Radio Goes Insane'' or ''The Radio Goes Mad'' ( fi, Radio tulee hulluksi) is a 1952 Finnish comedy film directed by Matti Kassila. The film is a sequel to '' The Radio Burglary,'' again starring Hannes Häyrinen as radio reporter Toivo Teräsvuori. Teräsvuori is mistakenly committed to a mental hospital and attempts to escape. Plot The ambitious radio reporter Toivo Teräsvuori (Hannes Häyrinen) is disappointed when ordered to report on an agricultural show in Mäntsälä. He convinces his superior to let him report using a hidden microphone to gauge people's reactions on being asked outlandish questions. Things start to go wrong when the police are informed of the apparently incoherent reporter who also appears to be talking to himself. The Jussi Awards are Finland's premier film industry prizes, awarded annually to recognize the achievements of directors, actors, and writers. History The first Jussi Awards ceremony was held on 16 November 1944 at the Restaurant Adlon in Helsinki. The award is one of the oldest films awards in Europe. The original planned name for the prize was ''Aino'', but Jussi won in the end. The name comes from a character in the 1924 and 1936 Pohjalaisia films. The awards were originally organized by the ''Elokuvajournalistit'' organization, but the task was transferred in the early 1960s to the ''Filmiaura'' organization, composed of around 300 members working in the Finnish film industry.
