Radio 1's Weekend Breakfast Show
''Radio 1's Weekend Breakfast Show'' is a radio show that is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 on weekends. It is currently hosted by Adele Roberts, who took over since January 2021. ''Weekend Breakfast'' was an extension of ''Radio 1 Breakfast'' which, before June 2018, aired on weekdays from 6:30 to 10am, while the weekend show aired on Saturdays and Sundays. In June 2018 Radio 1 decided to incorporate the Friday breakfast show into the station's weekend schedule, using the weekend presenters. In November 2020, the BBC announced changes to the Radio 1 schedules, meaning Matt Edmondson and Mollie King would move from weekend breakfast to weekend afternoons to replace Dev, who left the station in December 2020, and that the weekend breakfast show would only be broadcast on weekends. As of January 2021, they started airing on Fridays as Greg James now does five days a week. Peter Powell (DJ)
Peter James Barnard-Powell (born 24 March 1951) is an English former disc jockey, popular on BBC Radio 1 in the late 1970s and 1980s, as well as a television presenter for the BBC music chart programme ''Top of the Pops''. He has also had a second career in talent management. Early career Powell was educated at Uppingham School, a boys' independent school in Rutland in the English Midlands. Powell began his broadcasting career as the first voice on air when BBC Radio WM launched in 1970, and then had a brief spell on BBC Radio 1 in 1972. Chappers And Dave
''Chappers and Dave'' was the name of an irregular BBC Radio 1 cover show presented by Mark Chapman and David Vitty. The format usually only aired when the pair covered other DJs' absences. The format was abandoned following Chapman's departure from Radio 1 on 24th December 2009. In late 2010, Chapman and Vitty presented their own show on BBC Radio 5 Live called Commentary Selection Box. Significant Cover Work The pair had no regular slot on Radio 1 and usually only covered occasional weekend shows for one or two-week periods, but sometimes covered shows for significant periods of time. The idea for a dedicated cover show was conceived between JK and Joel joining the station in July 2004 and Scott Mills moving to a daytime slot. DJ Spoony (born Johnathan Joseph; 25 June 1970) is a British DJ and radio presenter. He is a member of the UK garage production trio, the Dreem Teem. Early career Dj Spoony was born in Hackney, East London to British West Indian parents. Clive Warren (born 1967) is a British radio presenter. Early career Warren's first experience of radio broadcasting came at Radio Moorfields, the hospital station at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, which broadcast from 1974 until 2006. From there he joined the first in-store radio station, Radio Topshop, at Topshop's store on Oxford Circus in London. Kevin Greening (30 December 1962 – 29 December 2007) was a British radio presenter, who co-hosted ''Radio 1 Breakfast'' on BBC Radio 1 with Zoe Ball from 13 October 1997 to 25 September 1998. Early career Kevin Greening grew up in Bristol where he worked voluntarily for the Bristol Hospital Broadcasting Service and was educated at Bristol Grammar School. Elizabeth Marguerita Mary Kershaw (born 30 July 1958) is an English radio broadcaster. She is the second longest serving female national radio DJ in the UK (after Annie Nightingale), celebrating 30 years on national BBC Radio in 2017.
