Radim Vrbata
Radim Vrbata (born 13 June 1981) is a Czech former professional ice hockey right winger. He had a 16-year career in the National Hockey League (NHL). Vrbata was originally drafted in 1999 by the Colorado Avalanche, with whom he has also played, along with the Carolina Hurricanes, Chicago Blackhawks, Arizona Coyotes, Tampa Bay Lightning, Vancouver Canucks and Florida Panthers during his NHL career. Radim Vrbata was also an NHL All-Star in 2015. Playing career Vrbata was drafted in the seventh round, 212th overall, by the Colorado Avalanche in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. He won the 2001 World Junior Championship and the 2005 IIHF World Championship with the Czech Republic. Radim Uzel (27 March 1940 – 2 May 2022) was a Czech sexologist and director of the Society for Family Planning and Sexual Education (''Společnost pro plánování rodiny a sexuální výchovu''). He was also an unsuccessful candidate to the Senate of the Czech Republic. Biography Uzel was born in Ostrava. In 1957, following his graduation at the gymnasium (school), gymnasium in Orlová, he studied at the medical faculty of Masaryk University in Brno. Uzel died in Prague on 2 May 2022, aged 82. Radim Šimek (born September 20, 1992) is a Czech professional ice hockey defenceman for HC Bílí Tygři Liberec of the Czech Extraliga. Playing career Šimek made his Extraliga debut playing with Liberec during the 2012–13 season. In the 2016–17 season, his fifth with Liberec, Šimek led the league amongst defencemen with 11 goals in the regular season. Radim Rulík (born June 10, 1965 in Ostrov, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech ice hockey coach. He is currently the head coach of the BK Mladá Boleslav of the Czech Extraliga. Radim Palouš (6 November 1924 – 10 September 2015) was a Czech dissident, philosopher, educator, and former spokesman for Charter 77, and from 1990 to 1994, was the rector of Charles University in Prague. Life Palouš was born into a family of journalists and active athletes. After graduating in Prague, he was placed in forced labor during World War II. From 1945 onwards, he studied philosophy at Charles University (taught by Jan Patočka), and in 1948 he defended his doctoral thesis on Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, Masaryks philosophy of youth. He worked as a teacher and studied chemistry at the pedagogical branch in Charles University, where, since 1957, he worked as an assistant.
