RFL Women's Nines
The RFL Women's Nines is a rugby league nines competition played as a pre season tournament ahead of the RFL Women's Super League. It is the first Women's Rugby League title in Europe to award prize money. 2022 On 30 March, the RFL announced that the inaugural RFL Women's Nines tournament would take place on 1 May. The competition saw teams from across RFL Women's Super League and RFL Women's Super League South, as well as selected invitational teams compete for six spaces in the final competition. The qualifiers saw 20 teams play in five groups of four with each group leader advancing to the final stage along with one wildcard team. Catalans Dragons, Leeds Rhinos, Huddersfield Giants, St Helens, and York City Knights were the five teams to advance as group leaders. Leeds Rhinos
The Leeds Rhinos are a professional rugby league club in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. The club was formed in 1870 as Leeds St John's and play in the Super League, the top tier of English rugby league. They have played home matches at Headingley Stadium since 1890. In 1895, Leeds was one of twenty-two rugby clubs that broke away from the Rugby Football Union and formed what was originally the Northern Union, but is now the Rugby Football League. The Salford Red Devils Women are the women's rugby league team of the Salford Red Devils in Salford, Greater Manchester, England. The team was established in 2021 and competed in the RFL Women's Super League in 2023. they compete in the Northern Women's Championship. Rugby League Nines
Rugby league nines (or simply nines) is a version of rugby league football played with nine players on each side. The game is substantially the same as full rugby league, with some differences in rules and shorter games. Nines is usually played in festivals, as its shorter game play allows for a tournament to be completed in a day or over a single weekend. Salford City Stadium (referred to as the AJ Bell Stadium for sponsorship purposes) is a rugby stadium in Barton-upon-Irwell, England, built to replace Salford rugby league club's ground the Willows for the 2012 season. The team originally competed as the ladies' team of the Leigh Miners Rangers before an agreement between the club and the Leigh Leopards led to the rebranding of the team in late 2022. The Bradford Bulls Women are an English professional women's rugby league team based in Bradford, West Yorkshire. Formed in 1999 as an autonomous club, Dudley Hill Thunderbirds, the team was also known as Bradford Thunderbirds and Bradford Clayton Thunderbirds. The Castleford Tigers Women are a female rugby league club in Castleford, West Yorkshire, England, that competes in the Women's Super League, the top-level Women's rugby league club competition in the United Kingdom.
