R. S. Lodha
Rajendra Singh Lodha (died 3 October 2008), popularly known as R. S. Lodha, was an Indian chartered accountant and the chairman of the Birla Corporation. Lodha became co-chairman of the Birla Corporation in 2001. In July 2004, Priyamvada Birla, chairperson of the Birla Corporation, died and was revealed to have bequeathed the entire assets of the company to Lodha in 1999. Lodha was also the will's executor. This sparked a protracted legal battle between members of the Birla family and Lodha that included more than 110 court cases at one time. Despite this, Lodha took charge as chairman of the corporation. Birla Corporation Limited is an Indian-based flagship company of the M P Birla group of companies, founded by Shri Ghanshyam Das Birla in the late 1910s and carried on by Madhav Prasad Birla. In the 1890s, Birla Corporation was a jute manufacturing company, but over time, it grew to operate four main divisions: cement, jute, linoleum, and auto trim. It is not a part of the Aditya Birla Group, a multinational conglomerate with products ranging from metals, cements, textiles, agricultural businesses, telecommunications, IT, and financial services. Priyamvada Birla
''Priyamvada'' (sometimes written ''Preeyamvadha'' or ''Priyamvadha'') is a 1976 Indian Malayalam film, directed by K. S. Sethumadhavan and produced by T. E. Vasudevan. The film stars Kaviyoor Ponnamma, KPAC Lalitha, Adoor Bhasi and Lakshmi in the lead roles. The film has musical score by V. Dakshinamoorthy. The film was a remake of the Tamil film ''Suryagandhi''. Plot Mohan is the eldest son in a middle-class family, having a superiority complex that he should be the first in everything. He and Radha fall in love and they get married. The Birla family is a family connected with the industrial and social history of India. Foundations The Birla family origins lie with the Maheshwari caste of Bania Vaishya traders but they were outcast from their traditional community in 1922 when one of their member, Rameshwar Das Birla, was thought to have broken the caste marriage rules.
