R-16 Regional Road (Montenegro)
R-16 regional road ( cnr, Regionalni put R-16) (previously known as R-14 regional road) is a Montenegrin roadway. It serves as an alternative connection between Plužine and Žabljak Žabljak (Serbian / Montenegrin: Жабљак, ) is a small town in northern Montenegro. It has a population of 1,723. Plužine (Montenegrin Cyrillic: Плужине, ) is a town in northwestern Montenegro. In 2011 it has a population of 1,341. Plužine Municipality
Plužine Municipality ( Montenegrin and Serbian: Opština Plužine / Општина Плужине) is one of the municipalities in northwestern region of Montenegro. The administrative center is Town of Plužine. According to the 2011 census, it has a population of 3,235. Geography and location The municipality of Pluzine is the seventh largest municipality in Montenegro, but also the municipality with the lowest population density, after Šavnik Municipality. The municipality is located in the northwest of Montenegro, being part of Piva region, named after Piva river. The region is close to the border crossing with Bosnia and Herzegovina (Herzegovina region) for the towns of Gacko and Foča. Žabljak Municipality is one of the municipalities of Montenegro. The municipality is located in northwestern part of Montenegro, being part of Durmitor region. Žabljak
Žabljak ( Serbian / Montenegrin: Жабљак, ) is a small town in northern Montenegro. It has a population of 1,723. Žabljak is the seat of Žabljak Municipality (2011 population: 3,569). The town is in the centre of the Durmitor mountain region and with an altitude of 1,456 metres, it is the highest situated Balkan town. History The first Slav name of the place was ''Varezina voda'' (Варезина вода) possibly because of the strong source of drinkable water nearby, making a settlement possible. Later, the town was renamed ''Hanovi'' because it was where caravans rested. The modern name dates from 1870, when in a single day the building of a school, church and captain's home began. However, almost all the original buildings were destroyed during the Balkan Wars. All that has remained is the old church of Sv.
