Qurios Entertainment
Qurios Entertainment was an animation and visual effects production studio. Founded in 2002 by Niel Bushnell and his wife Diane, the company was originally based in Hartlepool, England, relocating to Newcastle upon Tyne in February 2009. As well as producing animation for commercials ''Qurios'' has a string of TV credits, including Hyperdrive, Spooks, Tracy Beaker Returns and The Dumping Ground. In 2010 ''Qurios'' merged with ''Dene Films'', a Newcastle upon Tyne based live action production company. In 2013 they animated the missing episodes of the ''Doctor Who'' serial ''The Ice Warriors'' for its DVD release. In 2013 both Qurios and Dene Films closed. Visual Effects
Visual effects (sometimes abbreviated VFX) is the process by which imagery is created or manipulated outside the context of a live-action shot in filmmaking and video production. The integration of live-action footage and other live-action footage or CGI elements to create realistic imagery is called VFX. VFX involves the integration of live-action footage (which may include in-camera special effects) and generated-imagery (digital or optics, animals or creatures) which look realistic, but would be dangerous, expensive, impractical, time-consuming or impossible to capture on film. Niel Bushnell
Niel Bushnell (born 1970) is an English writer and artist from Hartlepool. He is the author of the science fiction series, The Arkship Saga, and children's fantasy novels Sorrowline and Timesmith, the first two books in The Timesmith Chronicles series, published in the UK by Andersen Press. He is the co-founder of animation studio Qurios Entertainment. Life and career Niel Bushnell was born in Hartlepool, England. Bushnell collaborated with school friend, Gordon Fraser, to create the newspaper comic strip, ''The Funny Farm'', later retitled Farmageddon. The strip ran for 18 months in the Hartlepool Mail. Later Bushnell developed ''Farmageddon'' as an animated project. Hartlepool
Hartlepool () is a seaside and port town in County Durham, England. It is the largest settlement and administrative centre of the Borough of Hartlepool. With an estimated population of 90,123, it is the second-largest settlement in County Durham. ''Hyperdrive'' is a British television science fiction sitcom broadcast by BBC Two in 2006 and 2007. Set in 2151 and 2152, it follows the crew of HMS '' Camden Lock'' as they stumble through their heroic mission to protect British interests in a changing galaxy. ''Tracy Beaker Returns'' is a British television programme. Based upon the novels by Jacqueline Wilson, it is the sequel series to ''The Story of Tracy Beaker''. The series stars Dani Harmer reprising her role as protagonist Tracy Beaker. The third and final series ended on 23 March 2012. A sequel spin-off entitled ''The Dumping Ground'' started airing on 4 January 2013. The Dumping Ground
''The Dumping Ground'' (also informally referred to as ''The DG'') is a British children's television drama series that focuses on the lives and experiences of young people who live in a children's home with their care workers in care. The series currently has 10 seasons and airs on CBBC. The series is a continuation of ''Tracy Beaker Returns'' and the first series, consisting of thirteen, thirty-minute episodes, was commissioned in early 2012.
