Quinton Narkle
Quinton Narkle (born 3 December 1997) is an Australian rules footballer with the Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He made his AFL debut for Geelong in round 15 of the 2018 season against the Western Bulldogs at Docklands Stadium. Narkle, from Western Australia, attended Wesley College and originally played for West Australian Football League club Perth Demons. He played for his state at the AFL Under 18 Championships, averaging 16 disposals. Narkle was drafted by Geelong with pick 60 in the 2016 national draft. In June 2017, he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament while training and did not return until May 2018. Narkle played six Victorian Football League matches before his debut. Commenting on Narkle's debut performance, coach Chris Scott said "we thought he was outstanding". Perth Football Club
The Perth Football Club, nicknamed the Demons, is an Australian rules football club based in Lathlain, Western Australia, currently playing in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). Representing the south-east area of the Perth metropolitan region, the club currently trains and plays its home games at Lathlain Park (currently known, for sponsorship reasons, as Mineral Resources Park), having previously played at the WACA Ground between 1899 and 1958 and later in 1987 and 1988. The club was founded in 1899 and began play in the First Rate Junior Association, but was promoted to the WAFL after eight games to replace the Rovers Football Club after they dropped out of the league and folded, with Perth drawing much of its inaugural WAFL squad from Rovers. It is seen as one of the main pathways towards being drafted into a team in the fully professional Australian Football League (AFL). The National Championships grew out of the Teal Cup which began in 1953 as a junior representative competition between the Australian states of Queensland and New South Wales. Phil Narkle
Phillip Michael Narkle (born 29 January 1961) is a former Australian rules football player of Indigenous Australian descent who played for and in the Australian Football League (AFL) and Swan Districts Football Club in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) during the mid-late 1970s and early 1990s. Younger brother of Keith Narkle (by nine years) who also played for Swan Districts, Phil generally played on the wing position. Regarded as a highly skilled and determined footballer with tremendous pace, Phil was perfectly suited to the wing position where he could turn defence into attack. Playing career Phil Narkle played colts in 1977 for Swan Districts in the WANFL and was awarded the Medallists Medal for being the fairest and best player for that year. The West Coast Eagles are a professional Australian rules football club based in Perth, Western Australia. The Swan Districts Football Club, nicknamed the Swans, is an Australian rules football club playing in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW). The club is based at Bassendean Oval, in Bassendean, an eastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia.
