Quintaine Americana
Quintaine Americana is a hard rock band from Boston (but with deep Southern roots) that started out in 1995. History Singer/guitarist Rob Dixon and drummer Jason King both hail from the small town of Drew, Mississippi and moved to Boston in the late 1980s. WBCN Rock & Roll Rumble
The Rock 'n' Roll Rumble (sometimes stylized "Rock & Roll Rumble"; formerly the " WBCN Rock 'n' Roll Rumble"), begun in 1979, is a Greater Boston " battle of the bands" competition sponsored by Boston Emissions, an online local music program formerly broadcast on WBCN (from 1987 until 2008) and WZLX (from 2009 until 2018). The Rumble remains the longest running event of its kind in the US. Its predecessors were the Bicentennial Tournament of the Bands held in 1976 at The Club in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and co-sponsored by WBCN and Inn Square Men's Bar, as well as 1978's First Annual Spring Rock 'n' Roll Festival co-sponsored by WBCN and the ''Boston Phoenix''. Rebel Yell (song)
"Rebel Yell" is a song by English-American rock musician Billy Idol. It is the title track of his 1983 album of the same name, and was released as the album's lead single on 24 October 1983. Although it charted outside the UK Top 40, a 1985 re-issue peaked at no. 6, and it reached no. 46 in the US. The song received wide critical acclaim and in 2009 was named the 79th best hard rock song of all time by VH1 based on a public vote. Composition and lyrics At a televised performance of ''VH1 Storytellers,'' Idol said that he had attended an event where Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones were taking swigs from a bottle of "Rebel Yell" bourbon whiskey. Milligram (band)
Milligram was an American rock band from Boston active from 1996 until 2002. Biography Formed by Jonah Jenkins and Darryl Shepard in 1996, Milligram had no permanent drummer. Shepard continued playing in Roadsaw, while Jenkins formed Miltown. After a predictably "major" label battle between Miltown and Warner Brothers/Giant Records, Jenkins returned to Milligram in 1998. After recruiting Bob Maloney on bass guitar and Zephan Courtney (StompBox, Juliana Hatfield, Chevy Heston) on drums, the ''Hello Motherfucker! EP'' CD/EP was recorded. In late 1999, Milligram parted ways with Bob Maloney and recruited Jeff Turlik (Blue Man Group, StompBox, Roadsaw) on bass guitar. The ''Hello Motherfucker! Newbury Comics is an American comic book and music retailer based in New England. Newbury Comics began as a comic book vendor on Newbury Street in Boston. The company was founded in 1978 by Massachusetts Institute of Technology students John Brusger and Mike Dreese. Dreese also published '' Boston Rock'', a music tabloid which was active from 1980 to 1987 that focused on punk, new wave and indie bands. There are now 28 stores in five New England states: four in New Hampshire, two in Rhode Island, one in Maine, one in Connecticut, and twenty in Massachusetts. On August 20, 2016, Newbury Comics opened its 29th store (its first outside of New England) at Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, New York and in August 2017, Newbury Comics opened a shop in The Westchester, a mall located in White Plains, NY (in Westchester County) that like Roosevelt Field is owned by the Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group. ''Tales from the Crypt'', sometimes titled ''HBO's Tales from the Crypt'', is an American horror anthology television series that ran from June 10, 1989, to July 19, 1996, on the premium cable channel HBO for seven seasons with a total of 93 episodes. It was executive produced by Joel Silver, Richard Donner, Robert Zemeckis, Walter Hill and David Giler (the Crypt Partners). The first two seasons were produced by William Teitler. Andrew Murdock (born January 24, 1962), also known as Mudrock, is an American record producer specializing in rock and metal genres. He is best known for producing Godsmack's ''Godsmack'' and ''Awake'' albums. More recently, Murdock has produced American metal band Avenged Sevenfold's albums ''Waking the Fallen'' and ''City of Evil'', as well as albums for Slunt, The Riverboat Gamblers, Powerman 5000, a series of singles for hardcore and metal band DYS, whom he also did live sound for in the 1980s, Eighteen Visions, Ünloco, Dave Reffett, Alice Cooper, and 50 Foot Wave's EP ''Power and Light''. Karma to Burn, commonly abbreviated as K2B, is a Palm Desert Scene, desert rock/stoner rock band from Morgantown, West Virginia. The band are noted for their uncompromising, mostly instrumental sound.
