Quincy Mall
Quincy Town Center, formerly Quincy Mall, is a shopping mall and office complex in Quincy, Illinois. It was formerly known as Quincy Mall from 1978 to 2021 and was originally an outdoor complex called the American Legion Miracle Mile Town and Country Shopping Center. The outdoor shopping center opened in 1958. The indoor complex opened November 14, 1978 and the mall's anchor tenants are Slumberland Furniture, Quincy Medical Group, and VIP Cinemas. Both shopping centers were created by Don M. Casto Organization of Columbus, Ohio. In 2006, the mall was purchased by Cullinan Properties. Quincy ( ), known as Illinois's "Gem City", is a city in and the county seat of Adams County, Illinois, United States, located on the Mississippi River. The 2020 census counted a population of 39,463 in the city itself, down from 40,633 in 2010. As of July 1, 2015, the Quincy Micro Area had an estimated population of 77,220. Shoppers Fair was an American discount department store chain. It was founded in 1956 in Bridgeport, Connecticut and owned by New York City-based Mangel, but primarily operated in the state of Michigan. The chain closed the last of its stores in 1975. Quincy Transit Lines is the primary provider of mass transportation in Adams County, Illinois with four routes serving the region. As of 2019, the system provided 347,194 rides over 47,465 annual vehicle revenue hours with 8 buses and 8 paratransit vehicles. National Supermarkets was a grocery chain in both the St. Louis, Missouri, and New Orleans, Louisiana, areas of the United States.
