Quin Walton Houff (born September 15, 1997) is an American professional stock car racing driver. Racing career Early years Houff started to race when he was eight, driving go-karts. A year later, he upgraded to Mini-Cup cars and by age thirteen, he was racing Limited Late Model cars at local tracks. During his formative years, Houff often competed at legendary short track South Boston Speedway. Late models Houff ran the entire 2015 CARS Super Late Model Series schedule at age seventeen. He won one race, in Hudson, North Carolina, recorded four more top fives and finished fourth in points. On the strength of that season, Houff was named to the 2016 Kulwicki Driver Development program. Richard Quin Edmonson Hillyer (born March 16, 1964) is an American conservative newspaper columnist and writer. He unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for the United States House of Representatives from Alabama's 1st congressional district in the 2013 special election in that district, finishing fourth in the Republican primary. Quincy David "Quin" Epperly (March 3, 1913 – January 7, 2001) was an American racing car constructor. He was born in Floyd, Virginia, to John Wesley and Iowa Texas Epperly. After completing a correspondence course in "Theory of Aircraft Construction", Epperly moved to Southern California in 1940 to work for Lockheed and Pacific Airmotive. During the war, he joined the Coast Guard Reserve to spend evenings after work on watch at the Wilmington Coast Guard Patrol Base. In the late 1940s, he went to work for Frank Kurtis building racing car bodies; this led to a lifelong career in the racing business. During the mid-1950s Epperly opened his own shop in Lawndale, CA, where he came up with a radical approach in racing car design, by placing the four-cylinder Offenhauser engine on its side, rather than in the upright position, as was the usual custom for the Indy roadsters of that era. Quin Blanding (born May 1, 1996) is an American football safety who is a free agent. He played college football at Virginia. He signed with the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent in 2018. Early years Blanding attended Bayside High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In high school, he played quarterback, tight end, wide receiver, and safety. He was rated by Rivals.com and Scout.com as a five-star recruit. Rivals had him ranked as the best safety and fifth best player overall. He committed to the University of Virginia to play college football. College career Blanding immediately became a true freshman in 2014. He became the first freshman to start the opening game for Virginia at safety since Tony Blount in 1976. Windham Henry Quin, 2nd Earl of Dunraven and Mount-Earl (29 September 1782 – 6 August 1850) was an Irish Peer. Origin He was the eldest son of Valentine Richard Quin, 1st Earl of Dunraven and Mount-Earl and Lady Frances Muriel Fox-Strangways, daughter of Stephen Fox-Strangways, 1st Earl of Ilchester, and his wife, the former Elizabeth Horner. He had one sister, Lady Harriet Quin, who married Sir William Payne-Gallwey, 1st Baronet and died in 1845. He was styled Viscount Adare from 1822 until he succeeded to the Earldom on the death of his father in 1824. He took the additional surname of Wyndham, becoming Windham Wyndham-Quin, on 7 April 1815. Walter Quin (1575?–1640) was an Irish poet who worked in Scotland and England for the House of Stuart. Ireland Born about 1575 in Dublin, nothing is known of Quin's early life before he travelled to study law at the Jesuit University of Ingolstadt in Germany around 1590. Although Quin referred to his Dublin origins in his work, his Irish family cannot be identified. The Stuarts rewarded him with property in Ireland, but there is no direct evidence that he returned to his native country. Quin wrote in English, Latin, French, and Italian, a polyglot combination that was a hallmark of his output. Vanessa Quin
Vanessa Quin (born 15 October 1976) is a world champion BMX and downhill rider from New Zealand. Quin competed in BMX events as a child, and moved into downhill mountain biking while at university. She was sponsored by Dirt magazine and raced internationally for about ten years. In 2002 Quin broke her neck while competing at the New Zealand national event, but made a full recovery and returned to racing. Quin represented New Zealand at 12 world championship events, including the 2004 event, when she won the elite women's section. She was the first New Zealander to win a world elite championship in downhill mountain bike. She was nominated as a finalist for the Halberg Award for Sportswoman of the Year 2004. In 2008 Quin retired from the sport to have children, and returned in 2013. Valentine Richard Quin, 1st Earl of Dunraven and Mount-Earl, 1st Baronet (30 July 1752 – 24 August 1824) was an Irish Peer and MP. He was the son of Windham Quin and Frances Dawson. The Quins were an old Irish family who had long been associated with Adare. The Earl's grandfather had added to the family's wealth and estates by marriage to the heiress Mary Widenham of Kildimo. He was created a Baronet in 1781. He was elected in 1799 as Member of Parliament for his father's old seat Killmallock to the Irish House of Commons, sitting until the union of Ireland and Great Britain in 1800/01.
