Quim (footballer, Born 1959)
Joaquim Carvalho de Azevedo (born 23 August 1959), commonly known as Quim, is a Portuguese former footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. Club career During a 16-year professional career, Vila do Conde-born Quim played for four clubs. He started out at hometown's Rio Ave FC, achieving two Primeira Liga promotions with them during his six-year spell, following which he signed for FC Porto aged 25. Quim was only regularly used in two of his five seasons with Porto, helping to the conquest of three leagues, one cup and two supercups. He also played the first 45 minutes of the 1986–87 European Cup final, as the team came from behind to win it 2–1 against FC Bayern Munich for their first triumph in the European Cup. Also from the bench, he appeared in that year's Intercontinental Cup, won against Peñarol in extra time, as well as playing in the first leg of Porto's 1987 European Super Cup victory against AFC Ajax. Joaquim Manuel Aguiar Serafim (born 5 April 1967), known as Quim, is a Portuguese retired football central defender and manager. Club career Born in Beja, Alentejo, Quim spent his entire professional career with Vitória FC, appearing in 301 Primeira Liga games for the club over exactly ten seasons. He made his debut in the competition on 23 August 1987, playing the full 90 minutes in a 3–0 home win against Académica de Coimbra. Quim retired at the end of the 2000–01 campaign at the age of 34, after contributing 13 appearances to help the Sado River side return to the top division after a third-place finish. Early into 2009–10 he acted as their caretaker manager, winning one match and losing two. Joaquim Manuel Sampaio da Silva (born 13 November 1975), known as Quim (), is a Portuguese former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He appeared in 396 Primeira Liga matches during his professional career, over 12 seasons with Braga, six with Benfica and one with Aves, and won five major titles with the second club. ''Quim: for dykes of all sexual persuasions'' was a sex positive lesbian magazine published between 1989 and 1994 with a further issue published in 2001. The magazine was edited by Sophie Moorcock and Lulu Belliveau, who had previously worked as a photo editor at ''On Our Backs'', the first US magazine of women's erotica. Influences included ''Shocking Pink'' a young women's zine produced in London between 1979–1992, Chain Reaction a lesbian S/M club that opened in Vauxhall in 1987, and Sheila McLaughlin's 1987 film '' She Must Be Seeing Things''. Joaquim Torra i Pla (; born 28 December 1962), known as Quim Torra, is a Catalan lawyer and journalist from Spain. He served as President of the Government of Catalonia from 17 May 2018 to 28 September 2020, when the Supreme Court of Spain confirmed a court ruling by the High Court of Justice of Catalonia condemning him for of disobeying the Central Electoral Board during the April 2019 general election, leading to his disqualification from office. Born in Blanes, Torra graduated from the Autonomous University of Barcelona before joining the legal profession.
