Quick The Word, Sharp The Action
''Quick the Word, Sharp the Action'' is the fourth studio album by British-based rock band Hundred Reasons, released on 15 October 2007, on V2. The album was recorded in Riga, Latvia, and is the first to feature guitarist Ben Doyle, following the departure of founding member Paul Townsend in 2006. ''Quick the Word, Sharp the Action'' was re-released on 20 April 2009. The band's official website describes the album as being: hewn from a particularly bleak period in the band’s history; friends died, a founding member left, Colin was told he might never sing again. It’s the cathartic outpouring of a band going through a heartbreaking time but coming out the other side, stronger, better and smiling all the way. Re-release Less than a month after the album's release, V2 Records was bought over by Universal, leaving the band, once again, without a label. Hundred Reasons
Hundred Reasons are an English alternative rock band from Aldershot, Hampshire, and Teddington, South West London, formed in 1999. The band consists of Colin Doran (vocals), Larry Hibbitt (guitar, vocals), Andy Gilmour (bass) and Andy Bews (drums). Having toured almost constantly for 14 months throughout the UK and Europe in support of their first releases EP1 (Cerebra), EP2 (Remmus) and EP3, (I'll Find You), Hundred Reasons released their debut album, '' Ideas Above Our Station'' (2002), to critical acclaim and commercial success. The album yielded the singles, "I'll find you", "If I Could", "Silver" and "Falter", and was followed by ''Shatterproof Is Not a Challenge'' in 2004. V2 Records (or V2 Music; V2 being an abbreviation for Virgin 2) is a record label that was purchased by Universal Music Group in 2007 and sold to IASin 2013. In the Benelux, V2 operates separately from PIAS, as the label bought itself out from Universal in 2007. Larry Hibbitt is a record producer from Wandsworth, London. He is guitarist/vocalist in the post-hardcore band Hundred Reasons. As a writer/producer he has worked with Nothing but Thieves, Marmozets, Sundara Karma, Saint Raymond, High Tyde, Pretty Vicious, Don Broco, Dinosaur Pile-Up, Sea Girls, Full colour, Valeras, Cortes, Geowulf, Norma Jean Martine, BLOXX and Sophie Jamieson. ''Kill Your Own'' is the third studio album by British-based rock band Hundred Reasons, released on 20 March 2006, on V2 Records. This is last album to feature guitarist Paul Townsend and the first to feature guitarist Larry Hibbitt as producer. Guitarist and producer Larry Hibbitt stated that the album is:"Quite an angry record. There are quite a few twisted moments and Colin's lyrics are a lot darker than before. At first the name seemed weird but after a while it just sort of made sense. It was the one that we just kept coming back to. It's a song about purposefully being a cunt to the people that you really love. It's when you really fuck people over, even when they're some of your closest mates." Producer of band's previous two albums, Dave Sardy, mixed three tracks on the album, as well as b-side, "Casual Friday".
