''Quick Millions'' is a 1931 pre-Code crime film directed by Rowland Brown and starring Spencer Tracy, Marguerite Churchill, Sally Eilers, and featuring George Raft as the sidekick with a solo eccentric dance performance. It was the first of only three films directed by Rowland Brown. Plot Daniel "Bugs" Raymond (Spencer Tracy) is a truck driver who is tired of working for a living and not getting ahead. He realizes the trucks and their drivers are making the business owners rich and hatches a protection racket where he controls the use of the trucks and men to drive them. Along the way, he sees Dorothy Stone (Marguerite Churchill), a wealthy woman "with class," and wants her, although he has a girlfriend Daisy (Sally Eilers). Dorothy is engaged to another. Edward Bernard Collins (January 30, 1883 – September 2, 1940) was an American actor, comedian and singer. He is best remembered for voicing Dopey in Disney's ''Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'' (1937) and for portraying Tylo in the Shirley Temple film '' The Blue Bird'' (1940). Career He began working in vaudeville in 1905 and started working in burlesque around 1925. Arthur Rankin (actor)
Arthur Gardner Rankin Sr. (August 30, 1895 – March 23, 1947) was an American film actor. Personal life Arthur Rankin was born in New York, the son of actress Phyllis Rankin. She later married actor Harry Davenport, who adopted Arthur. He was the nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Drew. Rankin served in the United States Marine Corps during World War I, and received a medical discharge in 1918. He then joined the British Army. During World War II, Rankin rejoined the Marine Corps. Rankin married Marian Mansfield, and they had two sons, one of them being animator Arthur Rankin Jr.. He died on March 22, 1947, of a cerebral hemorrhage. Edward McWade (January 14, 1865 – May 17, 1943) was a writer, stage actor and an American film actor. Biography McWade was born in Washington, D.C., on January 14, 1865. His father was notable stage actor Robert McWade Sr. (1835-1913) and his younger brother was character actor Robert McWade Jr. On September 4, 1897, McWade married actress Margaret May Fish. They performed in a number of stage and film productions together both before and after they were married. McWade appeared in more than 130 films between 1919 and 1944, mostly in secondary roles. He also wrote 15 stage plays and silent films scripts between 1897 and 1914. McWade died in Los Angeles, California. Edward Frank Dunn (March 31, 1896 – May 5, 1951) was an American actor best known for his roles in comedy films, supporting many comedians such as Charley Chase (with whom he co-directed several short films), Charlie Chaplin, W. C. Fields and Laurel and Hardy. Dunn was born in Brooklyn, New York. As a high school student in Waco, Texas, he began performing with some fellow students on a local radio station. He broke into films with the Vitagraph studio in 1915, working with the studio's star comedians Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Drew and Larry Semon. By 1927 he was working with stop-motion animator Charley Bowers at Educational Pictures, as a supporting player in Bowers's live-action comedies. John Sheehan (October 22, 1885 – February 14, 1952) was an American actor and vaudeville performer. After acting onstage and in vaudeville for several years, Sheehan began making films in 1914, starring in a number of short films. Horace McMahon (May 17, 1906 – August 17, 1971) was an American actor. He was one of Hollywood's favorite heavies. McMahon began his acting career on Broadway, then appeared in many films and television series. Paul Causey Hurst (October 15, 1888 – February 27, 1953) was an American actor and director. Career Born in Traver, California, Hurst was half-Cherokee and half-Seneca. He was raised on a ranch. He appeared in hundreds of films during the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. However, he got his start painting scenery as part of the backstage crew during the silent movie era.
