Queensland Blades
The Queensland Blades are a men's Australian field hockey team, representing Queensland in the Australian Hockey League. The Blades have been the most successful team to play in recent years. Their home ground is the State Hockey Centre at Colmslie in Brisbane, Queensland. They have also competed under the name Brisbane Baldes. And between the years 1993–2000, Queensland also provided a second team in the National Competition, the North Queensland Barras. The team were champions in the 2007 AHL final played in Perth, Western Australia on 1 April 2007, beating the WA Thundersticks. Joel Rintala
Joel Rintala (born 24 July 1996) is a field hockey player from Australia, who plays as a forward. Personal life Joel Rintala was born and raised in Townsville, Queensland. He is currently in a relationship with Australian swimmer, Shayna Jack. Career Domestic league Rintala is a member of the Brisbane Blaze in Australia's national league, the Sultana Bran Hockey One. He made his debut in the inaugural season of the league. Following his 2019 debut, he appeared in season two in 2022. National teams Burras Rintala made his international debut at under–21 level during the 2017 Sultan of Johor Cup. He was a member of the Burras gold medal winning campaign. Justin Douglas (field Hockey)
Justin Douglas (born 1 January 1993) is a field hockey player from Australia. Career State level Justin Douglas was born and raised in Townsville, Queensland. At a junior level, Douglas represented his home state, Queensland, at all Template:National Australian Championships, Australian Championships. In the Australian Hockey League, Douglas represented the Queensland Blades from 2013 to 2018, winning three titles. Following the disbandment of the AHL, Douglas was named in the Brisbane Blaze team for the 2019 Men's Hockey One, inaugural tournament of the Hockey One, Sultana Bran Hockey One League, Australia's new premier domestic competition. Dylan Wotherspoon
Dylan Wotherspoon (born 9 April 1993) is an Australia men's national field hockey team, Australian International Field Hockey player who plays for NMHC Nijmegen. His normal position is forward. He won a gold medal in the Hockey at the 2018 Commonwealth Games – Men's tournament, 2018 Commonwealth Games. Club career Wotherspoon played his junior career for Redbacks Hockey Club in Murwillumbah before relocating to Brisbane in 2010 to play with Eastern Suburbs Hockey Club in the Brisbane hockey association, Brisbane Hockey League. Wotherspoon was signed by Dabang Mumbai for $35,750US for the 2016 Hockey India League. Later in 2016, Wotherspoon was signed by Hoofdklasse club HC 's-Hertogenbosch for the 2016–17 season. Daniel Beale (field Hockey)
Daniel James Beale (born 12 February 1993) is an Australian field hockey player. He competed in the Hockey at the 2014 Commonwealth Games – Men's tournament, men's hockey tournament at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where he won a gold medal. Beale was selected in the Kookaburras (hockey), Kookaburras Olympics squad for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Shane Kenny (born 4 July 1947) is an Irish journalist and broadcaster who worked mainly at RTÉ Radio 1.
