Queensland Airports Limited is an Australian Airport consortium in charge of two separate Airport consortia in the state of Queensland, Australia. Under the two consortia, it is in charge of four airports; Gold Coast, Longreach, Mount Isa and Townsville. History Queensland Airports (QA) was established in 2003 as part of corporate restructure of the shareholding of Gold Coast Airport, with it taking 100% ownership of the airport. Bilinga () is a southern coastal suburb in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. In the , Bilinga had a population of 1,804 people. It is on the border with New South Wales. Geography Bilinga is bounded by Boyd Street to the north-west, the Coral Sea to the east, and the border with New South Wales to the west. The entire eastern coastline of the suburb is a continuous sandy surf beach, with the northern end known as Bilinga Beach () and the southern end known as North Kirra Beach (). Ann Caroline Sherry (born 1954) is an Australian public servant and businesswoman. Early life Ann Caroline Sherry was born on 2 February 1954 in Gympie, Queensland, Australia to parents, John Morgan Sherry and June Caroline (née Stanton), who were both pharmacists. She had an uneventful childhood in Gympie until her parents moved to a new pharmacy in Brisbane where she attended high school at Somerville House. Having finished school, she initially trained as a radiographer, but from 1975 to 1977 studied economics and politics at the University of Queensland achieving a Bachelor of Arts. Gold Coast Airport (formerly known as Coolangatta Airport) is an international Australian airport located at the southern end of the Gold Coast and approximately south of centre of Brisbane, within South East Queensland agglomeration. Longreach Airport is situated in Longreach, Queensland, Australia. The airport is northeast of the city. The Royal Flying Doctor Service has one of its nine Queensland bases at Longreach Airport. History Longreach has played a major part in Australian aviation from 1919 onwards. In August of that year, a small party left the town to travel overland to survey a route suitable for competitors in the first air race to leave England en route to Australia. The travellers included Hudson Fysh and Paul McGinness, two pilots who had both been trained in the Australian Flying Corps during World War I. In December 1919, a Vickers Vimy landed, piloted by Ross and Keith Smith, who were en route to Melbourne after completing the first England to Australia flight. Mount Isa Airport is an airport serving the western Queensland city of Mount Isa, Australia. It is served by a variety of scheduled regional airlines, with flights to Brisbane, Townsville and Cairns as well as several other regional centres. The Royal Flying Doctor Service has one of its nine Queensland bases at Mount Isa Airport. Since 2005 the airport has been owned by Queensland Airports Limited, which also owns Townsville Airport, Longreach Airport and Gold Coast Airport. In the 2010–11 financial year, Mount Isa Airport handled 217,525 passengers, a 25.1% increase over the previous year. Townsville Airport is a major Australian regional airport that services the city of Townsville, Queensland. The airport is also known as Townsville International Airport, and Garbutt Airport, a reference to its location in the Townsville suburb of Garbutt.
