Thamar Angelina Komnene ( gr, Θαμάρ Αγγελίνα Κομνηνή; died ) was a princess consort of Taranto by marriage to Prince Philip I. Life Thamar was the daughter of Nikephoros I Komnenos Doukas of the Despotate of Epirus and his second spouse Anna Palaiologina Kantakouzene, niece of the Byzantine Emperor Michael VIII Palaiologos. She was one of five siblings. Her older half-sister was Catherine, wife of Infante Frederick of Castile. Charles, Duke of Calabria (1298 – 9 November 1328), was the son of King Robert of Naples and Yolanda of Aragon. Charles was born in Naples in 1298, during the reign of his paternal grandfather, King Charles II, the second king of the Angevin dynasty that ruled Naples since 1266. Charles was the son of the King's third son Prince Robert and his consort Yolanda of Aragon. Little is known of his early life, so one can assume that he spent his early years at the court of his grandfather. In 1309, Charles' grandfather died and his father became King Robert the Wise. It was then that he became Duke of Calabria and was created Vicar-General of the Kingdom of Sicily (Naples). John of Gravina (1294 – 5 April 1336), also known as John of Anjou, was Count of Gravina 1315–1336, Prince of Achaea 1318–1332, Duke of Durazzo 1332–1336 and ruler of the Kingdom of Albania (although he never used a royal title). He was the youngest son of King Charles II of Naples and Mary of Hungary.
