Queen Egbo
Queen Kamsiyochukwu Egbo (born June 29, 2000) is an American professional basketball player for the Washington Mystics of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She played college basketball at Baylor. She represented the United States at the 2019 FIBA Under-19 Women's Basketball World Cup and won a gold medal. High school career Egbo attended Travis High School in Richmond, Texas. During her freshman year in 2015, she averaged 14.2 points, and 13 rebounds per game and 150 total blocks. She also had two triple-doubles and 19 double-doubles during her first varsity season. During her sophomore year in 2016, she averaged 14.8 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 4.6 blocks per game. Baylor Bears Women's Basketball
The Baylor Bears women's basketball team represents Baylor University in Waco, Texas, in NCAA Division I women's basketball competition. They currently compete in the Big 12 Conference. The team plays its home games in Ferrell Center. Before the 2021–22 season, the team had been known as the "Lady Bears", but on September 3, 2021, the school officially announced that women's basketball had dropped "Lady" from its nickname. At the same time, soccer and volleyball, the other two Baylor women's teams that were still using "Lady" in their nicknames, also abandoned that usage. 2022 Indiana Fever Season
The 2022 Indiana Fever season is the franchise's 23rd season in the Women's National Basketball Association. The regular season tips off on May 6, 2022, at the Washington Mystics. The Fever landed the 2nd overall pick in the 2022 WNBA Draft - despite having the best odds in the lottery drawing. On February 14, 2022, Tamika Catchings and the Fever parted ways as Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager. On February 24, 2022, the Fever announced that former head coach Lin Dunn would serve as interim General Manager for the year. 2022 WNBA Season
The 2022 WNBA season was the 26th season of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Chicago Sky were the defending champions. The WNBA's second Commissioner's Cup took place during the regular season, with the Las Vegas Aces winning over the Sky. In the playoffs, the Aces were the first seed and won the Finals over the Connecticut Sun. The regular season was expanded to 36 games per team, is the most games scheduled in a single WNBA season. A 36-game season was originally scheduled for 2020, but the plan was scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Amanda Zahui Bazoukou (born September 8, 1993), known professionally as Amanda Zahui B., is a Swedish basketball player for the Washington Mystics of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). After playing basketball both in Sweden and collegiately with the Minnesota Golden Gophers, Bazoukou was drafted by the Tulsa Shock with the second overall pick in the 2015 WNBA draft. Early life Zahui Bazoukou began playing basketball when she was 10. By 13, Sweden had added her to its 16-and-under national team where she averaged double-doubles in the European Championships. Her surname is pronounced ZAH-wee B. She shortened Bazoukou to an initial so it would fit on her jersey and be easier for Americans to pronounce. The ''Waco Tribune-Herald'' is an American daily newspaper serving Waco, Texas, and vicinity. Background The newspaper has its roots in five predecessors, beginning with the ''Waco Evening Telephone'' in 1892. The ''Tribune-Herald'' took its current identity when E.S. Fentress and Charles Marsh, who owned the ''Waco News-Tribune,'' bought the ''Waco Times-Herald.'' That purchase was the beginning of Newspapers, Inc., a chain that eventually owned 13 newspapers. The Lisa Leslie Award is an award presented annually to the best women's basketball center in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I competition. It is named after Hall of Famer Lisa Leslie, an eight-time All Star and two-time champion of the WNBA in her 12 years career with the LA Sparks.
